With 20 minutes left to play of the 2023 National Rugby League (NRL) Grand Final, most people thought the Brisbane Broncos had all but won a seventh premiership. The Queensland club was 8-24 up against the Penrith Panthers, with a 10-minute hat-trick from Ezra Mam having helped push the team almost out of sight. Unbelievably, however, the Panthers fought back, scoring and converting 3 tries in under 15 minutes to go 26-24 up and steal the win in the dying minutes.
Ahead of the 2024 season, the Broncos will be keen to overcome that chastening loss and make it to Australian rugby league’s showpiece fixture once again. Aiding them in that will be new signings Fletcher Baker and Jaiyden Hunt, signed from the Sydney Roosters and the St. George Illawarra Dragons respectively. Among those who have left the club are Herbie Farnworth and Thomas Flegler, who will be competing for cross-city rivals the Dolphins, and Keenan Palasia, who has joined the Gold Coast Titans. Can these roster changes bring the Broncos that seventh premiership they came so close to winning in 2023?

The side’s final game of the regular season will be at home against Melbourne Storm in early September.

2024 Rivals
During the 2024 NRL regular season, the Brisbane Broncos will play against all other NRL clubs: the Canberra Raiders, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, Dolphins, Gold Coast Titans, Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, Melbourne Storm, Newcastle Knights, New Zealand Warriors, North Queensland Cowboys Parramatta Eels, Penrith Panthers, South Sydney Rabbitohs, St. George Illawarra Dragons, Sydney Roosters, and the Wests Tigers.
Fellow Queenslanders the Gold Coast Titans and the Dolphins are 2 of Brisbane’s main rivals, as are Melbourne Storm, the Newcastle Knights, and the Sydney Roosters. It is however the rivalry that the club shares with the North Queensland Cowboys which is the most intense: the sides were Queensland’s sole representatives in the NRL for 8 seasons, and for almost 6 of those the Cowboys simply could not beat the Broncos. The teams have met in the NRL finals on multiple occasions, including in the 2015 grand final, which the Cowboys won in golden point extra-time. The Broncos and Cowboys will meet twice during the 2024 NRL regular season:
The clubs may also meet in the NRL finals, should they both qualify.
2024 NRL Finals
The Brisbane Broncos qualified for the 2023 NRL finals by finishing the regular season in second place. The club’s first finals match was against Melbourne Storm; the Broncos came out on top 26-0, meaning the Queensland side qualified for the preliminary finals. At the preliminary finals stage the Broncos defeated the New Zealand Warriors 42-12, and in doing so reached the grand final, where they faced the Penrith Panthers, the team which had pipped the Broncos to the minor premiership weeks before. In the grand final the Broncos suffered an agonising 26-24 defeat, during which the Panthers fought back from 16 points down. Brisbane’s most recent premiership came in 2006.
The top-8 teams in the table at the end of the regular season qualify for the finals, with teams knocked-out after 1 or 2 losses, depending on where in the table they finished. After 3 weeks of matches, only 2 teams remain, and these teams contest the Grand Final. The 2024 NRL Finals is expected to start on the weekend commencing 14 September. The semifinals will take place during the subsequent weekend, and the preliminary finals will be played the weekend after that. The 2024 NRL Grand Final is expected to be held on Sunday 6 October, however the date will be officially confirmed closer to the time.

How to get Cheap Tickets
The price of Brisbane Broncos home match tickets can vary depending on multiple factors, such as the opponents who are playing against the Broncos, the importance of the fixture and when in the season it is taking place, and the ticket type, and whether it provides access to any premium perks or hospitality inclusions. Buying regular season match tickets for games against sides who are not major rivals of the Broncos will keep costs down, whereas attending a game against a rival side close to the end of the season or during the final is likely to be more expensive. Moreover, tickets for seats located behind the posts are typically more affordable than tickets for sideline seats or premium seating sections. Koobit compares the prices of Brisbane Broncos tickets from both official sellers and secondary resellers, so that you can find the perfect NRL ticket at the most affordable price possible.
Where to Buy Tickets
Tickets for Brisbane Broncos home matches can be purchased easily online. Whilst buying tickets in-person at the stadium on game day may be possible for some fixtures, waiting to secure your tickets risks there being less choice when it comes to selecting a seat, and tickets may even be sold out. Buying tickets online allows fans to access tickets as soon as they become available, and conveniently compare prices from across the stadium and from different suppliers. Tickets purchased online can be downloaded, and then presented digitally on mobile devices upon entry.
