Despite having a small population, Bermuda has a national basketball, cricket, and football team, whose home games can be watched at the BDA National Stadium. Meanwhile, golf enthusiasts can catch the annual Bermuda Championships at the Port Royal Golf Course.
Unbeknown to most, the paradise island of Bermuda was first discovered by accident when the British explorer ship Sea Venture wrecked on its reef on the way to Virginia in 1609. Even though it’s been a British territory since then, the island situated somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, is still shrouded in mystery — especially since over 300 ships have been wrecked there since. Nowadays, the island’s Houdini-like reputation is what draws people to its shores. Bermuda allows people to disappear from the world and recharge on its hidden pink sand beaches. With plentiful bays, coves, sea caves, and reefs, Bermuda also draws people in for its diving. Not only might you discover rare Atlantic sealife, you may just spot some rusting wrecked ships filled with treasure.
