The Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) is the premier baseball league in Taiwan, with teams such as the Uni-President Lions and the Rakuten Monkeys attracting substantial support. Basketball is also popular; the P. LEAGUE+ and the T1 League are two main professional basketball leagues. Football is growing steadily, with the Taiwan Football Premier League (TFPL) leading the way.
Major sporting events in Taiwan include the annual Taipei Marathon, one of Asia's most prominent city marathons. The Tour de Taiwan, a professional cycling race, is another key event, forming part of the UCI Asia Tour. The region has also hosted various major badminton, tennis, and golf events in recent history.
