The Dolphins are the National Rugby League's (NRL) newest team, having been founded as a top-tier rugby league side in preparation for the 2023 season.
📜 Dolphins History
Named with reference to their associated Queensland Cup team, the Redcliffe Dolphins, the Dolphins will draw primarily on a pool of support within their native Brisbane, though the NRL team will technically be a separate team to the Redcliffe side, as evidenced by the dropping of the "Redcliffe" name. The Dolphins have quickly developed a rivalry with the Brisbane Broncos, the only other current NRL team based in the city.
In its debut NRL season, the club finished in 13th place. The side's home tie against the Broncos recorded a higher attendance than any other regular season fixture.
The Dolphins' home colours are red, white, and gold.
