Super League Rivalries
There are several high-profile rivalries within the Super League, and the fact that every team plays the others at least once per season means that these rivalries remain relevant and become more intense year-on-year. Matches between Super League’s current “Big Four”, Leeds Rhinos, St. Helens, Warrington Wolves, and Wigan Warriors, are always highly anticipated, as the quartet typically begin every Super League season with the aim of reaching the play-offs and competing for the championship. Other notable rivalries include the Calder Derby (Castleford Tigers versus Wakefield Trinity) and the Hull Derby (Hull FC versus Hull KR).
2023 Super League Play-Offs
The Super League play-offs will commence following the conclusion of the regular season, which ends on 22 September. The play-offs takes place across 3 weeks, this year beginning in late September and concluding with the grand final, on 14 October. The play-offs is comprised of a knock-out bracket, contested by the 6 teams which finish highest in the table at the end of the regular season. Teams are eliminated after 1 loss; the last 2 remaining teams contest the grand final, with the winners crowned Super League champions.
2023 Tickets & Prices
Super League stadiums can vary in terms of size and prestige; some venues can only hold relatively small spectator capacities, whilst others are large, modern, multi-purpose stadiums with large spectator capacities and up-to-date facilities. Ticket prices for Super League matches at all stadiums are however relatively inexpensive, especially when compared to ticket prices for other top flight rugby matches. Furthermore, tickets for seats or standing terraces located behind the posts are likely to be more affordable than tickets for sideline seats, or seats within premium or hospitality sections.
During the 2023 Super League season – Super League XXVIII – adult ticket prices start at approximately GBP £20, with many tickets available for under GBP £30. The most expensive Super League match day hospitality packages can cost in excess of GBP £100.
How to get Cheap Tickets
Super League rugby match tickets are typically relatively affordable, when compared to tickets for other top flight rugby competitions. The most affordable tickets can be found at matches involving non-rivals or less successful teams, for example sides outside of the “Big Four” (Leeds Rhinos, St. Helens, Warrington Wolves, and Wigan Warriors. Should you wish to get cheap tickets at your chosen match, selecting a section behind the posts is generally more affordable than opting to sit along the sidelines; the closer a seat to the halfway line, the more expensive it is likely to be. Many Super League stadiums also house general admission or standing sections; tickets for these areas are typically among the most affordable in the ground. Koobit compares the prices offered by official sellers and secondary resellers, to help you find your perfect ticket at the most affordable price possible.
Where to Buy Tickets
Super League match tickets can be bought online or in person at stadium ticket offices. Purchasing tickets online allows fans to access ticket sales as soon as they open; waiting to buy a ticket at the stadium on match day, for example, may lead to disappointment if tickets sell-out. Buying digital tickets also provides the opportunity to conveniently compare prices throughout a stadium, and from a range of official and secondary sellers. Match tickets bought online can be downloaded and then presented digitally at the stadium gates upon entry.
