Regarded as one of the most popular teams in baseball, the St. Louis Cardinals regularly enjoy some of MLB's highest attendances. Performances on the field are usually equally high, including throughout the last decade, during which the Redbirds have reached the Postseason 7 times. Second only to the New York Yankees in terms of World Series wins, the Cardinals will be hoping to achieve another strong showing in 2023 – a year that will also feature a trip across the pond for MLB’s London Series.

2023 Rivals
Like any successful sporting franchise, the St. Louis Cardinals have built-up a number of major rivalries over the years with teams such as the Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Chicago Cubs.
Known as the Show-Me Series in reference to the 2 teams’ home state of Missouri (the Show-Me State), the Cardinals-Royals rivalry is born out of proximity and local pride. The Royals' victory over the Cardinals in the 1985 World Series is still a sore spot for many Redbirds fans, but the Kansas team remain a long way off the Cardinals’ 11 total World Series championships.
Two highly successful MLB franchises, the Cardinals and LA Dodgers first met in 1900 and, on many occasions, have found themselves battling for the NL Pennant. The Cardinals-Dodgers rivalry was solidified in the 1960s when both sides enjoyed multiple trips to the World Series. A number of Postseason encounters reignited the rivalry in the 2000s.
Finally, the St. Louis Cardinals' most well-known rivalry is with fellow NL Central team the Chicago Cubs. Often called the Route 66 Series, the Cardinals-Cubs rivalry benefits from passionate fans on both sides, with a raucous atmosphere guaranteed wherever the 2 famous clubs meet. In 2023, the Cardinals and Cubs will take their NL Central rivalry global when they fly to the UK for a 2-game series at London Stadium.

The 2023 MLB Postseason will take place in October, once the regular season has ended. 12 teams qualify for the MLB Postseason, which is a 4-round playoff system: Wild Card Round (Best-of-3), Division Series (Best-of-5), Championship Series (Best-of-7), and World Series (Best-of-7).
