Visiting Edinburgh
At first glance Edinburgh may appear a gloomy looking city with characteristic grey stone buildings to match its notoriously grey skies, but it is in fact one of the most colourful and lively cities in the UK. Thanks to its rich history, revolving around Scotland’s royal family, the city is filled with iconic buildings and monuments like the Edinburgh Castle, Royal Mile, and Palace of Holyroodhouse. Today, Edinburgh has become a thriving student city with a booming arts scene, meaning there’s cool bars and cafes on every corner, and exciting events happening every week. The biggest event is The Edinburgh Festival Fringe – the largest arts festival in the world. Throughout August, the city hosts over 3,500 arts shows in more than 300 venues across the city.

Great day and event really well organised. BUT having the players total scores in white lettering on red was a nightmare. It meant the crowd did not immediately react to changes in scores as no one could make out numbers. Many people therefore resorted to using phones to see scores. Otherwise great.

When entering the public car park, there are 2 fields to park in, left or right, depending on which one you are directed to.
On leaving the car park at the end of the tournament, if you are in the right hand car park then be prepared to sit in your car going nowhere for well over an hour due to the complete inexperience of the young boys with hi vis vests and hats on. Cars from all over the place are trying get out of the one exit.
However, if you were in the left hand car park on entering, the exit process is more simple and quicker.
There are 2 exits overall and not one, in fact I saw cars going up another road towards the Muirfield exit.
I was in the wrong side car park, sat for over an hour whilst people were abusing the car park boys, with no supervisors or management to help them, then drove to the other left hand car park road exit and got out in 10 minutes.
The organisers haven't learned or don't care from previous years car park chaos. They have your money and they are patting themselves on the back that the golf itself went well.
