As Musselburgh Racecourse is located just 6 miles outside of Edinburgh, there are several public transport options for getting to and from the venue. Due to the extensive road links and the ample car parking available at the course, it is also popular to travel by car.

Parking for all racegoers including disabled parking will be at Car Park 3, you will then be directed to the appropriate entrance. The car park is around 50 m (1 min) from the entrance.
There is a taxi rank for pick-up and drop-off outside the entrance of the racecourse.

The nearest train station to Musselburgh Racecourse is Wallyford Station on the Edinburgh Waverley to North Berwick train line.
A courtesy raceday bus operates from Wallyford Park & Ride (240 m (3 min) from the Station Platform) to the racecourse, timed to meet trains from Edinburgh and from North Berwick and also operates at the end of the racing.
The racecourse is just a 805 m (10 min) walk from the centre of Musselburgh where there is a selection of shops.
As Edinburgh is such a small city, albeit rather hilly, it’s easy to reach most of its biggest attractions on foot from many of its central neighbourhoods. For those staying further out, there is a quick and easy-to-navigate train system that runs through the city that can bring you into the centre in no time. Therefore, you’ll be able to make the most of your visit wherever you decide to stay,

Picnic Area tickets will provide you access to the large picnic area overlooking the track, where there is plenty of outdoor seating available. All food and drink must be purchased from a seat and there should be no more than 6 people from 2 households per table. Table service will be provided for all refreshments.

The racecourse opens between 2 and 2.5 hours before the first race. If you have booked hospitality or a special package, you should arrive for the 'gates opening' time and at least 1 hour before the first race to allow sufficient time to enjoy your meal before the racing starts.
Racegoers on foot will enter via Entrance 3.
There are toilet facilities located throughout the enclosures and areas of the course. Single toilet units will be available for use. These toilets will be cleaned and sanitised regularly.
Musselburgh Racecourse hosts a range of horse racing fixtures throughout the year with flat racing in the spring/summer months and jump racing in the autumn/winter months. The venue is known for the “Sensational 6” racedays including New Year’s Day, Scottish Festival Trials Weekend, Easter Saturday, Ladies Day, The Summer Finale Weekend, and The Edinburgh Cup. Ladies Day in the summer is one of the most popular fixtures at the course.
