Each Formula 1 Grand Prix is contested by 20 cars, with each of the 10 teams in the championship represented by 2 separate drivers. The events begin with qualifying races, which determine the starting order for the competitive race. The driver who performs best in qualifying starts in pole position, while the driver who performs worst must start furthest from the line.
The winner of the Grand Prix race receives a trophy and 25 championship points, while those who finish second and third receive 18 and 15 points respectively. This continues down to the driver who finishes in 10th position, who receives 1 point. The polesitter and the driver who records the fastest single lap also receive points. At the end of the season, the driver with the most points wins the World Drivers' Championship, while the team with the most points between its 2 drivers wins the World Constructors' Championship.
Food and drink stands at the Hungaroring offer a variety of options for hungry and thirsty fans. Classic fast food choices are available, such as hot dogs and hamburgers, but there are also more locally-inspired dishes. One popular option is the Hungarian street food staple lángos, a fried bread commonly served with garlic butter or with a range of toppings. Gyros and pizzas are also on offer, and the prices are high for the region but not outrageous.
Beer and soft drinks are available throughout the circuit, and there are also free water refill stations.
Fans can bring their own water or other drinks into the circuit, as long as the volume does not exceed 0.5 litres, as well as 3 sandwiches or the equivalent amount of food. Glass containers are prohibited.
The Hungaroring has 6 access gates, located all around the perimeter of the circuit.
Toilet facilities are located all around the circuit, including beside most of the grandstands.
The Gold 3 grandstand includes a wheelchair-accessible viewing platform designated for wheelchair users and their companions.
