Formula 1 has officially released its race calendar for the upcoming season, and 2023 looks set for a spectacular championship. There will be a record-breaking 24 Grand Prix events next year, hosted at circuits all around the world. Whether you are mesmerised by cars tearing through mountain forests or prefer to see a rear wing silhouetted against a desert sunset, there is a race on the calendar to suit every fan.
The new kid on the block is the Las Vegas Grand Prix, which will debut on 18 November 2023 as the penultimate race of the season. Unusually, the main race in Las Vegas will take place on a Saturday night, with the latest ever start time for Formula 1: the green flag will wave at 22:00 (PST). The championship has visited Sin City in the past for the Caesars Palace Grand Prix in 1981 and 1982, but the new edition will feature a street circuit that includes the famous Las Vegas Strip. In 2023, fans in the United States will enjoy 3 separate Grand Prix races on home soil for the first time, as Las Vegas joins Miami and Austin on the calendar.
The season will kick off with the Bahrain Grand Prix, whose main race is scheduled for 5 March 2023. It will be the 19th running of this event, which made history in 2004 as the first Formula 1 race to be held in the Middle East.
Some Formula 1 races have already put tickets on sale for their 2023 editions, and popular grandstands are selling out fast. The Canadian Grand Prix, taking place on the weekend of 18 June 2023, has proven popular, but tickets are still available for fans who want to secure their place at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. General Admission starts at CAD $250 (USD $185) for an adult’s weekend pass, or CAD $59 (USD $44) for Friday admission.
Fresh from Montreal, the championship will move to the Styrian mountains for the Austrian Grand Prix, held from 30 June to 2 July 2023. Many grandstands are sold out, despite the race being almost a year away, so act quickly to book your spot! Some General Admission tickets are still on offer through secondary sellers, with prices starting at EUR €243 for single-day entry on Sunday.
The British Grand Prix is next on the calendar, and tickets for Silverstone are a hot commodity. The main race is set for 9 July 2023, and weekend General Admission passes for adults are available from GBP £219. If you would prefer a reserved grandstand seat, tickets start at GBP £289 for the full 3 days, or £259 for entry on Sunday only.
From Britain, the Formula 1 tour will head to the Hungaroring, where the Hungarian Grand Prix will take place from 21-23 July 2023. Another event that has seen high demand since releasing tickets, this Grand Prix is also one of the most affordable on the calendar. Weekend General Admission passes for adults start at HUF Ft 42,129 (USD $101), while grandstand seating is available from HUF Ft 56,010 (USD $135).
The 2023 season will conclude on 26 November 2023 with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Tickets for the 2022 edition of the race in Abu Dhabi are still available, along with passes for the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix, the United States Grand Prix in Austin, and the Mexico City Grand Prix.
