Free parking is provided at the circuit for event ticket holders on a first come, first served basis, and visitors will be guided to the right parking area by police or event staff. At the end of an event, the roads can be extremely busy, so drivers may need to wait for an hour or more to exit the circuit.
Super Gold Parking is also available to purchase, which provides a guaranteed space in a VIP parking area behind the main straight, as well as priority access to the circuit using a VIP road.
Visitors driving to the Hungaroring via the M3 motorway must purchase a motorway vignette in order to use that road. A 10-day pass costs around EUR €20 and can be bought online or in person at a service station.
Taxis are widely available in Budapest. Visitors travelling from the city to the circuit can expect journey prices of EUR €50-90 each way, with journey times varying significantly depending on local event traffic. In usual traffic, the journey takes approximately 30 minutes.
An official taxi stand is provided near the main circuit gate. Queues can become chaotic here, particularly just after events have finished, so pre-booking with a registered company is advised.
During major events, shuttle bus services run between the Hungaroring and Kerepes HÉV station. These shuttle buses are free to use for event ticket holders, with services beginning at 07:00 and running until the afternoon or evening. Buses travelling to the Hungaroring drop passengers off at Gate 3, and the return service picks up from the same location.
Many visitors choose to reach the circuit by train. The journey from Budapest includes the following steps:
Visitors can leave the train at Kerepes, where free shuttle services to the Hungaroring are provided during major events, or instead can get off at Szilasliget or Mogyoród and walk to the circuit. See the Coach & Bus Travel and Walking Travel boxes for more details.
The total journey time from Budapest to the circuit should be between 60 and 90 minutes. Passengers need a travel card or a single train ticket, plus an extension ticket that covers the journey from lonatelep to Kerepes. These tickets can be purchased via the MÁV app, or at any BKK ticket machine.
Some visitors choose to walk to the circuit from the nearby train stations. From Szilasliget, the journey is 3.5 km (42 min). From Mogyoród, the journey is closer to 4.0 km (48 min). Fans choosing to walk should be prepared for an uphill climb to the circuit over uneven terrain.
