One of the historical bugbears for F1 fans was the late confirmation of the season calendar. Traditionally, a provisional version was released at the end of summer, but not confirmed until November/December - just months before the new season started.
A positive change since Liberty Media took over a few years ago has been an increasingly proactive stance on calendar release. The 2024 season was published in July 2023, and the 2025 season calendar has already been released in April 2024. This is great news for fans who now have plenty of time to plan their Formula 1 trips, especially out-of-town visitors who need to book travel and accommodation.
Full 2025 Formula 1 Calendar
The 2025 season maintains a 24-race calendar starting on 14 March and ending on 7 December, with the same destinations as 2024.
The earlier part of the schedule has been shuffled to respect Ramadan in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, as well as following a more manageable route around the globe for the travelling F1 teams.
Australia regains its slot as season-opener, and Abu Dhabi stays firmly fixed as the final race of the season.

Although the same number of races, the overall 2025 season is 2 weeks shorter than 2024 as a result of starting in mid-March rather than late February. The knock-on effect is that there won’t be the short autumn break between Singapore and the United States races as there is in 2024.
Sprint Races
There will be another 6 sprint races in 2025, but the exact venues are yet to be confirmed. Patience is a virtue.
75 Years of Formula One
2025 marks the 75th year of the Formula One Championship, with the British Grand Prix being the first ever championship race, taking place at Silverstone Circuit on 13 May 1950.
Formula 1 CEO and President Stefano Domenicali said “2025 will be a special year as we celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the FIA Formula One World Championship, and it’s that legacy and experience that allows us to deliver such a strong calendar.”

Whilst no details have yet been published, it seems likely that F1 will want to mark this milestone in some way, particularly at Silverstone, Monaco, Spa-Francorchamps, and Monza, all of which hosted races in the inaugural season.
