Since it was launched in 2007, Magic Weekend has bewitched the world of rugby league. First held at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, the novel concept, which sees an entire round of Super League fixtures played at a single stadium over one weekend, has become a trailblazing endeavour, copied by sports leagues across the globe.
Throughout its history, Magic Weekend has been hosted by numerous cities across the UK, including Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool, and Leeds. Newcastle, however, has held the event on more occasions than any other location, and Super League’s annual 2-day showcase will head back to Tyneside in 2025.
Set to be held between 3–4 May, Magic Weekend 2025 will return to St. James’ Park, home of Newcastle United, where the event was staged 7 times between 2015–2018 and 2021–2023. A total of 6 fixtures are scheduled for the weekend, with 3 taking place on Saturday 3 May, and 3 more on Sunday 4 May. The full fixture list is as follows:

As has been the case in previous years, fans wishing to attend Magic Weekend can choose between single day tickets for either Saturday or Sunday, and full weekend tickets covering all the action on both days. Tickets are available across a range of categories, with both reserved and unreserved seating in place. For this year’s event, dedicated fan areas will be in place for all teams, with the Gallowgate End hosting fans from Leigh Leopards, Hull KR, St Helens, Huddersfield Giants, Warrington Wolves, and Castleford Tigers, while the Leazes Stand has been nominated for supporters of Catalans Dragons, Salford Red Devils, Leeds Rhinos, Hull FC, Wigan Warriors, and Wakefield Trinity.
Over 63,000 attended Magic Weekend last time it was held in Newcastle, and the city has become a popular host among fans. With tickets already selling fast, Magic Weekend 2025 is all set to be a sensational celebration of Super League and all it has to offer.
