Last year, the Salford Red Devils reached the play-off semifinals, during Super League XXVII. With the 2023 campaign – Super League XXVIII – well underway, the Greater Manchester club will be again looking to secure a play-offs berth, and perhaps reach a first grand final since 2019. Looking to help the team achieve that aim will be several new signings, including second-row Sam Stone, signed from the Leigh Leopards, and Oliver Partington, a versatile forward who joined from Wigan Warriors at the end of last season. Can they help the Red Devils go the distance?

2023 Schedule
The Salford Red Devils, like all Super League sides, will play a total of 27 regular season fixtures during the 2023 season (Super League XXVIII). Of these 27 fixtures, 22 are standard home and away fixtures; the Red Devils will play against every other team in the league twice each – once at home and once away from home. The remaining 5 fixtures are “loop fixtures”: if a team finished fifth during the previous season, they play against the teams that finished in all odd-numbered league standings (e.g., first, third, seventh, ninth, and eleventh). Likewise, all teams which finished the previous season in the even-numbered league standings will play against each other. These 5 loop fixtures are played at a mixture of home and away grounds. Salford’s first match of the season was against the Leigh Leopards, on 17 February; the club’s final match of the regular season will be against Catalans Dragons in September, at the AJ Bell Stadium.

2023 Rivals
Throughout the 2023 Super League season (Super League XXVIII), the Salford Red Devils will play against the Castleford Tigers, Catalans Dragons, Huddersfield Giants, Hull FC, Hull KR, Leeds Rhinos, Leigh Leopards, St Helens, Wakefield Trinity, Warrington Wolves, and Wigan Warriors.
The Salford Red Devils and the Swinton Lions traditionally share a rivalry within East Lancashire; Swinton was previously based in the eponymous area of Greater Manchester, though the team has since relocated to Sale, a different part of Greater Manchester. As Swinton is not competing in the Super League this year – the club is currently in the Championship, the second tier of the Rugby Football League – the Red Devils and the Lions will not be playing against each other in the top flight this year.
2023 Super League Play-Offs
Last season (Super League XXVII), the Salford Red Devils finished the regular season in sixth place, securing the final play-offs berth. The Greater Manchester side beat the Huddersfield Giants 0-28 at the eliminators (quarterfinals) stage, before losing to St Helens at the semifinals stage. In 2023 (Super League XXVIII), the team will be hoping to go at least one further: reaching, and perhaps winning the Super League grand final.
The 2023 Super League play-offs will take place across 3 weeks, beginning in late September following the conclusion of the regular season, and ending with the Super League grand final, which is set to be held on 14 October. A total of 6 teams qualifies for the play-offs: the teams which finish third to sixth enter at the eliminators stage, and the teams which finish first and second enter at the semifinal stage. The 2 sides which progress from the semifinals contest the grand final.

How to get Cheap Tickets
As the price of match tickets for Salford Red Devils home matches can vary depending on numerous factors, there are multiple things you can do to get cheap tickets for their games. Fixtures involving a successful or famous team are likely to command higher ticket prices, so selecting tickets for a match involving a less successful side can help keep prices down. Tickets are also cheaper in certain parts of rugby league stadiums; tickets for seats situated on the sideline, close to the halfway line, are typically more expensive than those for seats located behind the posts, at the end of the pitch. Koobit also compares the prices offered by official ticket sellers and secondary resellers, providing the opportunity for you to find the perfect ticket at the best price.
