The racing and atmosphere are great fun!
The British fans are always a great laugh and muck in!
However, the pricing and what you get for it could be better.
The field car parking, especially in the wet is still a very big issue.
Access too and from the track in the single lane roads, is also still an issue.
Accessibility for people who have trouble walking is also an issue.
(People have advice, and wanted to help but not everyone had all the necessary information...)
This is what brings my rating down to A 3 star - Can definitely do better.
I'm sorry to be so harsh, but it's because I know it's in you guys to fix all these points.
Come on, I know you can do it!
This experience was maximum fun and excitement, made all the better by the excellent organization of the facility
2023 was my third time at Silverstone so I have a pretty good idea now how it all works. The circuit felt a busier than previous years, maybe they've added more capacity? That said, most queues still moved fairly efficiently like getting in, grandstands, toilets etc. so they did a good job on that front.
Weather was a bit cloudy at times but held out and race day was fine. Race was good but not as eventful as others in last few years. Felt sorry for Lewis but great to see Nando doing so well!
Plenty to see and do around circuit outside of racing. We didn't stay until the evening concerts so can't comment on those. Food is usual range of temporary catering you'd expect, there's a fair number of options but always a little pricey at these type of events.
Downside was mobile reception - struggled to get internet access. Leaving on Sunday by car was also very slow. But these types of things are difficult when you have so many people in a small area.
Overall a good experience, will wait to see what happens with prices to decide on 2024 as the 2023 pricing went a bit crazy with it changing so quickly last year.
Went with my partner on Sunday and we loved our seats in Luffield. The view was fantastic and near the f1 village and lots of food and drink vendors nearby to suit all tastes. The race markers were also really friendly and a positive atmosphere everywhere. I took 1 star off because of the amount of queues, particularly for bathrooms and the car park in and out - I know it's a challenge for a big event but think this could have been managed better. Otherwise a great day.
The race was brilliant and atmosphere from the fans. Dampener put on by park and ride as bus got lost and so we were delayed - not sure how that happens!!! Pleased to have done it but it is very expensive and even more in 2023 and not sure I can justify the cost to go regularly.
W-O-W!! Our family were in Abbey stand so saw the Guanyu accident first-hand. We just couldn't believe it but it is great he was uninjured after such a crazy crash.
So much drama in the race we were on the edge of our seats. Felt sorry for Leclerc who probably deserved the win but congratulations to Sainz on his first win. Although Hamilton didn't win, as always, he's just the most incredible driver and when he got up into third place the crowd went wild! Such a good atmosphere.
Weather was pretty good on race day and arrival was smooth, lots of food and drink options. Getting out by car at the end was slow. Think the race delay from the crash made things a bit worse because people leaving at once so it was a bit of a headache. Might try park and ride bus next time.
Thank you! Can't wait to attend again!
General admission is awful - daylight robbery! Tickets are over £200 each and there is absolutely no where to sit. Best areas aren’t accessible to general admission holders and no stands do you just have to press yourself against a fence all day and can’t see anything unless you’re at the front from the crack of dawn and prepared not to move. Unbelievably over-priced, barely saw a thing - I wish I’d watched on TV.
Always go with General admission as grandstands too expensive for me. Copse is great but also ga terrace around luffield but this costs extra. Get there early for good spot and bring chair. Don't leave just after race as traffic barely moves, wait a couple of hours. This has got to be the best sports event in uk, atmosphere unbeatable.
I was lucky enough to be treated to hospitality tickets by some clients and we had a great day. We parked near Copse and walked through the nearby tunnel under the track to be picked up by a shuttle to the hospitality area. The lounge was overlooking Vale and Club and had a mix of grandstand and terrace seating - we enjoyed the terrace the most as it was more relaxed only slight gripe is quite limited chairs so you have to catch a space early if you don't want to stand. The indoor lounge and hospitality is well presented, staff friendly, and pretty satisfactory food and drink options for a buffet style - not the best I've had but still good. Nice music on the terrace added to the entertainment too. I've not been to other hospitality areas in the circuit but I think this would be my choice if I went again - unless I could afford the Paddock Club!! 💰💰😄
My hubby took me to the race on Sunday and I'm converted! The cars are so much faster and louder than you imagine from TV and its very exciting to watch. We watched from the admission areas and brought a picnic rug but was standing for most of the race as the views were better. We came from Manchester on the train and changed for bus to the circuit, it was very easy. Go Lewis!!
I've been to the British Grand Prix about ten times now, but 2021 was the best year yet!!! It was absolutely packed but it made for a great atmosphere and even more amazing when Hamilton won! Weather was also fantastic which adds to it for an outdoor event like this.
I always try and make at least two days on the Sat and Sun so that you can relax and enjoy the event without feeling rushed as there's lots to see and do around the circuit. I either stay in a hotel around Northampton or camp at the circuit.
Driving is a bit hit and miss, but leave early if you drive to avoid the biggest queues and try to stay around for a few hours after the end of the race or you'll just sit in traffic. This year I took the shuttle bus from the Park & Ride and it was much better - it has its own priority lane and you can just sit back and relax even if the traffic is slow and let the bus driver worry about that!
If your budget is big enough for a grandstand ticket, then I recommend it, especially for Sunday, as it just means you know you have the reserved seat and can come and go. But General Admission is still great and a real buzz to it. My favourite spot is Becketts and has a cover, which is good for sun and rain.
Not long now until 2022 - can't wait!!
