Originally of New York, the San Francisco Giants joined their longtime rivals the LA Dodgers and became one of the first 2 baseball teams on the West Coast in the late 1950s. Since then, the Giants have become as much a part of the City by the Bay as Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. While the club is yet to recreate the success it enjoyed in the 2010s (3 World Series wins in 5 years), a talented crop of players, including the likes of LaMonte Wade and Thairo Estrada, are aiming to forge new legacies at Oracle Park.

2023 Schedule
The San Francisco Giants will play 162 MLB games during the 2023 season – 81 at Oracle Park, and 81 on the road.
2023 will be the first season of MLB’s new, more balanced, schedule, and the San Francisco Giants will face every other MLB team at least once. This year, the Giants will play 13 games against each of their fellow NL West teams ( Los Angeles Dodgers, Colorado Rockies, San Diego Padres, and Arizona Diamondbacks); 64 intraleague games (v non-division NL teams); and 46 interleague games (v AL teams).
As of 15 June, the Giants boast a 36–32 record for the 2023 season. In their next game, on 16 June, the San-Francisco-based team will face the LA Dodgers at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The Giants will bring their regular season to a close on 1 October this year when, once again, they face longtime divisional rivals the LA Dodgers at Oracle Park.

2023 Rivals
The San Francisco Giants’ 3 main rivals are the Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees, and Los Angeles Dodgers.
The cities of Oakland and San Francisco are separated by just 20 km, which makes the Oakland Athletics and San Francisco Giants natural geographical rivals. Known as the Bay Bridge Series, the rivalry between the 2 teams reached its height in the 1989 World Series – a 4–0 victory for the A's that was interrupted before Game 3 by the Loma Prieta Earthquake.
The Giants-Yankees rivalry stretches back to the early 1900s when the Giants were based in New York. Despite being separated by almost 3000 miles, the teams continue to enjoy a competitive rivalry as 2 of MLB's most historic and successful franchises.
The Giants and Dodgers franchises both began life in New York, and so did their rivalry. When the 2 teams relocated to California in 1957, the Giants-Dodgers rivalry continued, and remains heated to this day. Just as the cities of LA and San Francisco have long competed economically, politically and culturally, the Dodgers and Giants fight it out for civic pride on the field. With fans from both sides packing out stadiums every time the 2 teams play, the Giants and Dodgers rivalry has traversed a continent and lasted for over a century, and is no doubt one of the greatest rivalries in all of sport.
The San Francisco Giants will play the Los Angeles Dodgers 10 more times this season:

2023 Postseason and World Series
The San Francisco Giants have made the MLB Postseason 27 times in their history. The franchise has won 8 World Series, including 3 championships in 5 seasons between 2010 – 2014.
Over the past 10 years, the Giants have made the playoffs 3 times, most recently in 2021, when they were eliminated by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL Divisional Series.
The 2023 MLB Postseason will take place in October, once the regular season has ended. 12 teams qualify for the MLB Postseason, which is a 4-round playoff system: Wild Card Round (Best-of-3), Division Series (Best-of-5), Championship Series (Best-of-7), and World Series (Best-of-7).
2023 Tickets & Prices
Oracle Park in San Francisco has been home to the San Francisco Giants since 2000. The ballpark looks out onto an area of the San Francisco Bay, meaning long home runs can end up in the water. One of the most picturesque stadiums in all of sport, Oracle Park was recently named as the second-best ballpark in MLB by both USA Today and Sports Illustrated.
At present, Oracle Park has a capacity of 41,915. During the 2022 MLB season, the average attendance at the venue was 31,260 and the average ticket cost $39. Standard Tickets
Seating at Oracle park is split across 3 main levels:
- Field (100 Level) – seats on this level provide close-up views of the action from the venue’s lowest tier
- Club (300 Level) – premium, elevated views that still feel close to the action make this one of the stadium’s most popular seating areas
- View (500 Level) – seats on the stadium’s top tier are a great place to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a bird’s-eye-view of the game
Premium, Hospitality & VIP Tickets
- Field Club – these tickets include premium seats close to the field between the bases, access to a climate-controlled club lounge, and a private entrance
