The Colorado Rockies are an American professional baseball team that compete in MLB's National League West division. The club play their home games at Coors Field in Downtown Denver.
📜 Colorado Rockies History
Named after the famous mountain range that dominates the team's home state, the Colorado Rockies joined MLB as an expansion team in 1993. A member of the National League West division, the Rockies played for 2 seasons at the Denver Broncos' Mile High Stadium before moving into Coors Field – the ballpark they continue to call home today.
Since their inception, the Rockies have battled with the thin air of their elevated home in the mountains, which has proven fruitful for batters, but challenging for pitchers. Despite these difficulties, the team has qualified for the Postseason on 5 occasions.
Arguably the most successful year in Rockies history came in 2007 when the team secured the NL Pennant after winning 14 of their last 15 regular season games. While the Boston Red Sox proved too much in the World Series of that year, the season remains a source of pride for the club and its passionate fans.
