We have just returned from F1 in Montreal. We had a great time but must complain about the toilet facilities and the cost of beer around the circuit. We were in stand 21 and where appalled by the hygiene of the toilets. Basically, the toilet is a bucket in a plastic hut. There is no flushing mechanism so the waste builds up through the day with no cleaning. There are no handwashing facilities which at the least is a serious hygiene issue and surely not acceptable. The number of portaloos is so inadequate that long queues form and people are left waiting for 20 to 30 minutes. Everyone we spoke to were disgusted by the state of these 'toilets'.
The other thing I must complain about is the price of a beer around the circuit - £11 for a can of beer, this is just a total rip-off. We expect to pay premium prices at the F1 but this is ridiculous.
We have travelled to over 20 countries watching F1 and can honestly say that the toilets are by far the worst we have experienced and this includes India.
The 2024 was a mixed bag. Action on track was great and the changeable weather helped make for a great race but wasn't so good for us spectators in general admission!
Gilles Villeneuve is a beautiful circuit but it is very crowded and moving around can be difficult. They have put up a lot of blue covering on fences in places which limits places to watch - I haven't see this done at other F1 tracks and makes it even header to get a good spot if you don't have a reserved seat. We got up extra early on race day to ensure a GA spot - people who came mid-morning were a bit stuck in finding places to view.
I think they need to try and do more for GA customers or limit tickets. If you can afford grandstand tickets I would recommend it.
We watched from Tribune 1 and the view was REALLY good! Also tv screens helped to see what was happenign in other parts of the track. Seating could be a bit more spacious but not a big issue.
Great drive by Max and plenty to stay entertained and the weather 🌧️ didn't really bother us except when trying to get in and out things were quite slow. We used the metro to get there and back, which is busy but okay, but some grandstands seem a long walk from it.
Toilets and food lines were pretty food for a big event and food reasonably priced.
