It seems like only yesterday that we witnessed the cheers at Cheltenham Festival and the glory of the Grand National, and yet tickets are already on sale for the 2022-23 jump racing season! The Jockey Club is advertising tickets for meetings at many of their courses including Warwick and Aintree, with the latter holding the famous Becher Chase Meeting on 3 December. There’s plenty on offer further afield with Punchestown’s Winter Festival (19-20 November) and The Fairyhouse Winter Festival (3-4 December), as well as the Welsh Grand National at Chepstow on 27 December.

In the past few weeks, the iconic Cheltenham Racecourse has opened sales for some of its most prestigious autumn/winter meets including The Showcase Meeting (21-22 October), The November Meeting (11-13 November), and The International Meeting (9-10 December), as well as for New Year’s Day Racing (1 January 2023) and Festival Trials Day (28 January). With tickets starting from just GBP £10, there’s no excuse to miss your opportunity to experience one of the UK’s top sporting venues. Don’t forget sales have already started for the 2023 Festival!
Racing fans have been fully entertained this summer with a roster of thrilling flat racing action at the Epsom Derby Festival, Royal Ascot, and Sandown Park’s Coral Summer Festival, not to mention the home of flat racing, Newmarket hosting The July Festival. The quintessential summertime beauty of flat racing is unrivalled, but, of course, those fans who enjoy the power and muddiness of the jumps can’t wait for the National Hunt season openers.

The 2021-22 jump racing season was full of the anticipated nail-biting thrills plus a few long-awaited firsts. Most notably, this was seen with Rachael Blackmore’s incredible year where she became the first female leading jockey at the Cheltenham Festival, the first female jockey to win the Grand National, and the first female jockey to win the Gold Cup in the space of 12 months.
Will we see yet more success for Rachael Blackmore? Who knows? What we do know is that we have a line-up of top-class meetings where anyone from savvy racegoers to eager newbies will be guaranteed a great day at the races. As is the case every year, there’s a fabulous array of Christmas and New Year’s meetings ideal for friends and families including Sandown Park’s Tingle Creek Festival (2-3 December), Kempton Park’s Christmas Festival (26-27 December), Leopardstown’s Christmas Festival (26-29 December), as well as the aforementioned Cheltenham meeting to name just a few.
