WM Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale, Scottsdale
Where else to start but the most well-attended event in all of golf? Also known as “The Greatest Show on Grass” and “The People’s Open,” the WM Phoenix Open has been thrilling golf fans since 1932. It took on a new life altogether after taking up permanent residence at TPC Scottsdale’s iconic Stadium Course – so named for “The Coliseum,” a 20,000-seat grandstand surrounding the par-3 16th hole – in 1987. The event is known for its passionate atmosphere, and with a huge array of ticket options it makes for a once-in-a-lifetime experience whether you’ve got general admission into the grounds or passes for one of the many premium areas available. You can find out more about the WM Phoenix Open and its tickets here.
The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass, Ponte Vedra Beach
When it comes to prestige, few events can top The Players Championship. Also known as the unofficial “5th major” of men’s golf, The Players is the flagship event of the PGA Tour, and with a USD $25 million prize purse, you can guarantee a field of the world’s best every year. TPC Sawgrass is also among golf’s most iconic courses, with the 17th hole island green being one of the most recognizable and difficult in the world. What’s more, designer Pete Dye’s smart use of mounds to frame key holes such as the 18th make it easy for fans to watch the action without having to worry about their view being blocked if they’re not in front row. Check out The Players Championship here.

Puerto Rico Open at Grand Reserve Golf Club, San Juan
Typically held as an alternate event to the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the Puerto Rico Open is among the smallest events on the PGA Tour, and it’s not a competition in which you’re likely to see many big names in action. However, it can still be a wonderful experience to attend as a spectator. The beautiful beachfront setting makes for a stunning location, tickets are very affordable, and Puerto Rico can make for a great spring vacation destination. Depending on how long you’re staying for, you can also play on the course at Hyatt Grand Reserve yourself the week before or after the tournament! Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill Club and Lodge, Orlando
One of the PGA Tour’s “signature events,” the prestigious Arnold Palmer Invitational pays tribute to the eponymous 7-time major winner each year. An impressive field of top-class talent compete for the traditional red cardigan – and a $20 million prize purse – on a course owned by the golf legend until his death in 2016. Despite being a significant event on the calendar, the Arnold Palmer provides a surprisingly intimate experience between fans and players, although you might not get too close to 8-time winner Tiger Woods if he passes through. You can find out ticket information and more for the Arnold Palmer Invitational here.

Procore Championship at Silverado Resort, Napa
As the opening to the FedEx Cup Fall series and with few big-name players in attendance, the Procore Championship (formerly the Fortinet Championship) might not immediately stand out as one of the top events to attend on the PGA Tour. However, this competition offers an award-winning spectator experience that has seen it voted in recent years as the “Most Fan-First Event” on the tour. As well as the golf, fans get to experience all the best parts of a live event, with great food, drinks, and live music on offer, and convenient on-site parking, too. Indeed, with post-play concerts on Friday and Saturday that have featured the likes of Weezer and Billy Idol in recent years, tickets are great value at $75, and they’re only $45 on Thursday and Sunday. What’s more, the Napa Valley location makes it the perfect spot to go wine-tasting during your stay. Check out the Procore Championship here.

Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club, Los Angeles
Formerly known as the Los Angeles Open, the Genesis Invitational has been one of the PGA Tour’s top competitions since it originated in 1926. It settled in Riviera Country Club – where a 16-year-old Tiger Woods would later make his amateur debut – in 1973, and Woods is now the tournament host, with the event benefiting his TGR Foundation. For fans, the scenic “Riv” is one of the best courses to walk on the PGA Tour, with great views of the action wherever you find yourself. With extensive amenities, food, and merchandise options, the Genesis is a true celebration of golf and live sport. Ticket information and more for the Genesis Invitational can be found here.

Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Golf Resort, Palm Harbor
The Valspar Championship at Innisbrook Golf Resort has been entertaining golf fans in the Florida sunshine since 2000. While it’s not one of the PGA Tour’s “signature events,” it has stood out for its fan-friendly approach and was voted as the “Most Fan-First Event” on the tour for the 2022-23 season thanks to its impressive organization and stewardship, affordable ticket prices, transport accessibility, and amenities. Its amenities and activities include the Family Fun Zone, Frenchy’s Pool Party, and the Valspar Block Party, while a variety of food and beverage options enhance the experience further. Like the Fortinet Championship, live music on Saturday is also a key part of the event, with the likes of Darius Rucker and Cole Swindell appearing at Valspar Live in recent editions. You can find key information on the Valspar Championship here.

The American Express at PGA West, La Quinta
The American Express (formerly the Bob Hope Desert Classic) has been a PGA Tour staple since 1960. This popular event is known for its entertaining play and low scores – amateur Nick Dunlap set a tournament-record score of 29-under par when he sensationally won in 2024 – and you can get close to the players while they set them. The Amex is also renowned for its post-play concerts, which have been headlined by big names such as Gwen Stefani, Stevie Nicks, and Maroon 5 in recent years. Fitting for an event that takes place in California’s Coachella Valley! For more details on The American Express, click here.

Sony Open in Hawaii in Waialae Country Club, Honolulu
Where better to beat the January blues than Hawaii? Get away from the cold weather and get yourself to Oahu to start off the new year in style at the Sony Open, the PGA Tour’s first full-field event on the calendar. You can attend the golf by day – superbly organized on Waialae’s beautiful beachfront course – and a luau by night, so much like the Puerto Rico Open, this can be great to pair with a vacation. What’s more, the tickets are affordable at $40 per day or $100 for the entire tournament. You can find Sony Open ticket information and more here.

Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow Club, Charlotte
Another “signature event” on the PGA Tour is the Wells Fargo Championship. While it’s a somewhat more recent addition to the tour having debuted in 2003, it has wasted no time in establishing itself among the tour’s most popular events, held at the immaculate Quail Hollow Club in the lovely city of Charlotte. Each year, fans get to see the world’s top players take on one of the toughest 3-hole stretches in golf, Quail Hollow Club’s 16th, 17th, and 18th, better known as the “Green Mile.” Fans of Rory McIlroy have had particular joy here over the years, having seen him lift the title on a record number of occasions. Koobit has more spectator information on the Wells Fargo Championship here.
