I sat in the Northern stand in the disabled/ wheelchair section. I had a wonderful view. It was lovely & airy. The metal chair was bad ergonomically. The seat sloped back which caused me to have pain in my spine. Michael from Ticketmaster was very helpful & contacted the organisers to make sure I had a good sitting space.
Loved it!
The new venue is fantastic. Have been each year. My only complaint in the Southern stand and I presume all the stands is that the seating is so close together, but it’s really hard to get past people to get to your seat the addition of handrails up and down the stairs has made a huge difference. It’s just sad that the seating couldn’t be made a bit further apart anybody who is tall is having trouble even fitting their knees in between the seat in the seat below. My other suggestion would be having food trucks just on one side is amazing, but if you happen to sit in the Southern stand and you are right around, pick anybody to walk past, and to get to them is quite a long walk I for one find that too hard . I find it being an older person once I get up into the stand. I don’t go down again manoeuvering the stairs with a lot of younger people is hard, especially in a crowd so even though that you were might like something more in the way of food is manoeuvering to get down to it. That is hard . All staff were amazing and very helpful the ticketing process getting in the gate. Excellent the food trucks were excellent but it would just be nice to have some other choices of food on the other side so that people on that side of the venue could get to them easily , I remember last year there was a lovely area out over by the river on the grass except that wasn’t utilised this time as well but in saying that as a person with a disability it would be so nice and was so nice to have the road open, where my Uber could get right up to the gate and drop me instead of me having to struggle to walk so far to get to the gate as the road was closed last year. I realise we can’t have it all better. You asked for comments I thought the venue was fantastic but once again this year we found the Audio Visual being able to hear what the commentators were saying was incredibly difficult. I wasn’t the only one many people commented that it’s just not clear. It was probably a little better than last year, but that just does need to be improved so that you can actually hear what they’re saying, it’s otherwise very muffled Altogether by the experience was amazing. I love my tennis and now that this event is in Adelaide my desire to get to the Australian Open isn’t quite so great as at my age it’s a little bit more difficult so I’m so pleased to be able to get to see replies that I want to see in Adelaide
Let’s hope you can attract Nadal. I would love to see him play. Once again, thank you to everyone for a fantastic event. Can’t wait for next year.
The biggest downside is that there are not any nice hotels within walking distance of the venue. Also, the food offerings could be expanded and improved. Tennis was good and a number of top ranked WTA players.
Nice idea but for day session only one match was on and a half set from previous evening. Hardly a busy schedule. Doubles were available but could barely see courts. The practice courts were blocked off. Ridiculous, other venues allow viewing. The parking was ridiculous and the food available was barely passable. So much room for improvement especially for the cost of admission
The event itself was great!
The biggest inconveniences were:
1. payment for parking opposite the Arena IN CASH in local currency
2. any backpacks, even the small ones, were prohibited and you couldn't bring any own food at the stadium. There were some bars, but the food offer was just hamburgers and snacks (and the huuuge queues) and after spending the whole day there we were seriously hungry.
super klimat
Very informative on the results of games but presentation is somewhat a problem.
Fabulous day out drinks overpriced
Wonderful day - very impressed with post covid revamp I.e.big screen, deck chairs etc.
It was an amazing experience. So friendly, relaxed and very well organised. Enjoyed every minute
We loved it … glorious day
Had a wonderful day atmosphere was electric everyone was so helpful
It was lovely but some concern for safety under the east stand when lots of people left.
I had a really good time.
My first visit to a tennis tournament. Thought it was good value to see 4 matches in one day.
BUT dealing with the LTA app, both when trying to buy tickets, and then to download them, was APPALLING. Never again.
Tara, the young lady who helped us finally to download the tickets onto our mobile phones at Devonshire Park, was brilliant.
Tennis stadium fantastic
One finals match cancelled as player pulled out (they wouldn’t do that if it wasn’t a warm up match for Wimbledon!) so we missed watching a game we’d gone there to see
Food and drink completely overpriced- we should have brought our own
Why no entry on Friday it was previously a free pass day
Bad entrance arrangements
Had 2 days at Dubai Duty free tennis championships. The mens semi finals and lucky enough to be at the mend final as well.
Venue was great with staff being very helpful. Seating gave a great view of the court and of course all the action. Food and drinks surrounding the stadium offer a wide range to suit everyone. I did really enjoy my experience at The Irish Village. Will certainly buy tickets the next time I visit Dubai at this time.
