The price of rugby union tickets can differ depending on the popularity of the teams playing, the stature of the venue, the location of the seats within the stadium, and whether the tickets include any exclusive access or hospitality perks. International matches can sometimes command larger prices, and smaller club matches generally have cheap tickets on sale; tickets at Twickenham Stadium or the Principality Stadium are likely to be more expensive than those at a club’s ground. However, as a rule, tickets for most professional rugby union matches are neither hugely expensive nor incredibly cheap, but somewhere in the middle.
Koobit compares rugby union tickets across different seating areas, and also includes discounted tickets and early access tickets, as well as showing the price of resale tickets from the secondary ticket market, so fans know exactly how much their tickets are worth.
The price of match tickets can be affected by multiple factors. Match tickets are often more expensive at international matches than at club matches, and the cheaper international tickets will be found outside of formal tournaments – for example tickets for matches in the summer and autumn test windows are likely to be cheaper than Six Nations, Rugby Championship, or Rugby World Cup matches. Viewing position also affects price: seats along the sidelines of the pitch are usually more expensive than those behind the posts. Ticket-inclusive hospitality packages which grant access to exclusive areas and viewing sections are also more expensive than standard tickets.
To give rugby union fans as many options as possible when purchasing rugby union tickets, Koobit compares rugby union tickets across viewing areas, and Koobit also includes discounted tickets, early access tickets, and shows the price of resale tickets from the secondary ticket market, so fans can find tickets for the most popular matches, at an affordable price.
Many larger rugby stadiums offer on-site parking, or official off-site parking options. Many professional rugby union clubs facilitate “park and walk” sites, where spectators can leave their cars securely, a few minutes’ walk from the stadium. In general, parking passes will often need to be paid for in advance, particularly for international matches, but some events allow parking to be paid for on the day.
More information on parking at or travelling to a rugby union match can be found on the match’s Travel & Parking tab on Koobit.
Usually, only the biggest international rugby union teams routinely offer official hotel options for their matches. However, many professional rugby union matches take place in or around urban areas, so finding accommodation is often straightforward.
