Unlike the British Open or any golf tournaments in US you have to have a japan cellphone to get kind of verification before purchasing the tickets. Sayonara Japan golf tournament! Thank you!
Good to have a first experience in Japan golf tournament.
It was fun, hope to play there
Very difficult for a non Korean speaker to get information about the event. I e best place to stay, if shuttle buses were running and where to catch them.
Poor organisation from the start! The "opening ceremony" was a shambles! Asking for more money to attend was an utter disgrace and no wonder it was empty! What was the Queen tribute all about? Cringe worthy. No buses from Estepona even though it was the nearest big town! Everything went from moneybags Marbella!
The course was ridiculous to walk and not well signposted and I got lost trying to find my way back to the Plaza (seating area and big screen)
First day I went I had my water taken off me and no food was allowed either so we had to buy ridiculously priced water and basic food. It was €4 for a small froth filled beer.
Hardly any shade or seating for the many fans tired from walking the hilly course.
The final day was boiling hot! Again hardly any shade and you had to PAY an upgrade to obtain a wooden seat that took 2 men hours to put into place. Which should have been done earlier in the day or night before. Loads of faffing about by staff moving chairs and large potted plants whilst we tried to watch the matches on the one screen in the entire venue
Had to leave early on the last day as we knew we wouldn't be able to get back due to lack of transport to Estepona.
Overall an expensive underwhelming experience! A cash cow for the organisers from start to finish.
The golf course was not at all fan friendly . It is a playing course not a walking course . No consideration for fans of all ages who spent a lot of money to support The Solheim Cup .
The event was very well organized. Communications was always very timely if there were any changes. The volunteer staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Overall, a great event. The golf was absolutely phenomenal. The golfers were professional and still personable and took time to engage with the crowd!
First event I ever worked as a Marshall. I could not have enjoyed it more. I’ll be back next year and work every day again. Outstanding product the LPGA has and for a first time venue I thought it was very well run.
Loved the whole day ( I booked the last day)
Course map was good and the scores/order of players was clear and very helpful.
Very nice atmosphere and lovely spots to sit along the way.
Refreshment outlets were good too. ( I only purchased 2 tins of wine)
Was lucky enough to get a seat at the 18th hole for the end of the game and my slight criticism was the scoreboard was slow to update.
All the staff I met were delightful!
It was well organised and we Enjoyed our visit to the Freed sponsored golf tournament. It was good to be able to get close to the lady professional golfers and watch how they move around the course.
Toilets could be supplied at far end of course out near the holes by the railway line
A very good event but the following would improve the spectator experience:
1. Score boards for each game, or, if that is not practicable, for as many games as possible.
2. Spectator stands.
3. More information on-line - e.g. the tournament brochure wasn't available until day 3 (or at least I could not find it before then). Also a downloadable map of the course and the facilities would have been VERY useful.
A well organised event. A great relaxed atmosphere. My only slight and very slight criticism is that there was not much to the Fanzone this year compared to last. Excellent admission prices and parking was easy. All in all a great experience.
No wonder admission is so cheap for this second rate tournament, sat at 18th and no information on players on the green or their scores, very poor catering and bar facilities not a sandwich or healthy food in sight just pizza and burgers. Lasted 2 hours before giving up and going home luckily we didn’t have far to travel. Certainly won’t be going next year.
Excellent venue and course.
The event was really well planned. Plenty of volunteers willing to help and plenty of facilities so no waiting for anything. To be surrounded by spectators of all ages who understood the game and were totally respectful to the players was a joy.
Great standard of play on a beautiful Course
Fab event with top world players on beautiful and tough Scottish links course
Well organized! Hospitality second to none! Veterans were warmly welcomed. Thank you to all the volunteers!
Fewer stands none on hole 1,14,17 or 18?+Less food stands on course?
Great event, everyone involved is very welcoming!!!
