Silverstone Circuit is open to the elements and so it's essential to plan ahead and check the weather before you travel so you don't get caught out! For warmer days and sunshine, bring your sun lotion, a hat, sunglasses, and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. On cooler days, bring a jumper, particularly as it can get windy in elevated grandstands. And if it does rain, a mac or poncho is ideal – umbrellas aren't allowed in grandstands or anywhere that can block the view of other spectators.
Many grandstands at Silverstone are covered, but they may not offer complete protection from the elements depending of the angle of the sun/rain. Furthermore, you will typically spend time walking around the open areas of the circuit. Better to come over-prepared than under-prepared!
Northampton is usually warm in August, with highs of 24°C and an average temperature of 19°C. The climate tends to be rainy, with an average 39% chance of rain each day.
