Premiership Rugby, currently known for sponsorship reasons as the Gallagher Premiership, is English rugby union’s premier club competition. The Premiership includes teams from many regions of England, from as far south as Exeter to as far north as Newcastle, with all clubs primarily representing towns or cities, instead of provinces or regions. As home to some of rugby union’s oldest and most successful clubs, and some of the game’s most high-profile players, the Premiership enjoys an international audience, and its fixtures are attended by thousands of fans every week.

2023/24 Schedule
The 2023/24 Premiership Rugby season began on 13 October 2023. The regular season will be comprised of 18 rounds of matches, with each team playing against the other 9 twice each, once at home and once away from home. The regular season will conclude on 17 May 2024. The Premiership play-off semifinals and final will then be played in early June 2024. You can find the full 2023/24 Gallagher Premiership Rugby season schedule here.
Premiership Rivalries
During the Premiership season, every team plays against the other 9 teams twice each, once at home and once away from home. As a result, there are plenty of derby matches played throughout the campaign. Some rivalries date back decades, and involve teams based in close geographical proximity to each other, who compete in local derbies. Other rivalries have emerged more recently, as the result of teams competing for trophies across the same periods of time, perhaps meeting in play-off games or the Premiership final. Some of the Premiership’s fiercest and most famous local rivalries involve teams such as Bath Rugby, the Bristol Bears, Gloucester Rugby, Leicester Tigers, and the Northampton Saints. An example of a more modern rivalry is the Exeter Chiefs- Saracens rivalry.
2023/24 Premiership Play-Offs
The Premiership Rugby play-offs commence after the conclusion of the regular season. Comprised of knock-out semifinals and a grand final, the play-offs are contested by the teams which the regular season finish first, second, third, and fourth in the Premiership table. The first-placed team hosts the fourth-placed team, and the second-placed team hosts the team which finished third. The 2 semifinal winners then advance to the Premiership final, which is staged at Twickenham Stadium in London. The Premiership final winners are crowned the season’s champions.
The 2023/24 Premiership final will be held at Twickenham on 8 June 2024.
2023/24 Tickets & Prices
Whilst Gallagher Premiership Rugby tickets can vary in price depending on many factors, affordable tickets can be found for most matches, even those involving the most successful or famous teams. One way to acquire more affordable tickets is to select a seat located behind the posts or situated very close or far away from the pitch; the most expensive tickets are typically those which provide access to a sideline seat, or a seat located in the middle rows of the stands. Some Premiership stadiums also house standing terraces; tickets for terraces are generally more affordable than tickets for seating sections.
During the 2023/24 Premiership season, the most affordable adult tickets start at around GBP £15, but most tickets will cost more than GBP £35. Discounted tickets for children, students, seniors, and other fans are available at many grounds. The most expensive Premiership tickets, which usually include a range of premium hospitality perks, can cost over GBP £100.
How to get Cheap Tickets
Rugby tickets for matches involving successful, high profile, or rival teams are likely to be more expensive than tickets for games played by less successful teams, or sides who are not local rivals. Another way to get cheap tickets is to select a standing ticket, which provides access to a terrace along the side of the pitch. If a given stadium does not have standing terraces, or you wish to reserve a seat in the stands, opting to sit behind the posts is typically more affordable than reserving a seat along the sidelines. Koobit compares the prices offered by official suppliers and secondary sellers, to help you find the perfect Premiership ticket at the most affordable price possible.
Where to Buy Tickets
Match tickets for Premiership games can sometimes be purchased on game day, at stadium ticket offices, however buying tickets online is recommended, as fans can access sales as soon as they open, and can quickly compare prices from across the stadium and from different ticket suppliers. Waiting to buy tickets in-person may result in disappointment if there is only a small selection of tickets remaining; tickets may even be sold-out. Tickets purchased online can be easily downloaded and then presented digitally at the stadium upon arrival.
How to Get to a Game
All Gallagher Premiership Rugby stadiums are located in towns and cities, meaning there are many car parks located close by for those attending on match days. Some stadiums even provide on-site car parking for a fee, or allow fans to book a parking space at official off-site car parks. Koobit provides travel and parking information for all Premiership stadiums, including information on a range of public transport links: visit a stadium page for more information, or see an individual event page’s Travel & Parking tab for match-specific information.
