One of MLB’s youngest franchises, the Colorado Rockies have been a fixture of Rocky Mountain summers since 1993. In that time, the Rockies have amassed a strong and faithful fanbase that continues to make a trip to Coors Field one of the most enjoyable experiences in baseball.
While just 2 playoff appearances in the last 10 years might have many fanbases low on hope, in Denver, the spirit of ‘07 is always strong – the year in which the Rockies won 14 of their last 15 regular season games on the way to an unlikely place in the World Series. Could 2023 see another fairytale Postseason push? It’s never smart to write off the Rockies.

The Colorado Rockies will play 162 MLB games this season – 81 at Coors Field, and 81 on the road.
2023 will be the first season of MLB’s new, more balanced schedule, and the Rockies will face every other MLB team at least once. This year, the Rockies will play 13 games against each of their fellow NL West sides ( Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, Arizona Diamondbacks, and San Diego Padres); 64 intraleague games (v non-division NL teams); and 46 interleague games (v AL teams).
As of 25 May, the Colorado Rockies hold a record of 21–29 for the 2023 season. The Rockies’ next game is against the New York Mets and takes place on 26 May at Coors Field. The team will wrap up the 2023 season on 1 October at Coors Field with a game against the Minnesota Twins.
You can find the Colorado Rockies’ 2023 Regular Season schedule here.
2023 Rivals
While they also share regular battles with fellow NL West members the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants, the Colorado Rockies' main rivals are the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Encouraged by the fact that these are 2 of the newest teams in MLB, the Rockies and Diamondbacks often find themselves jostling for position in the NFC West against some of the game’s most historic names. The Rockies-Diamondbacks rivalry has also featured 2 playoff matchups – most notably in 2007, when the Rockies entered as a wild card, but ended up going all the way to the World Series.
The Colorado Rockies will face the Arizona Diamondbacks 10 more times this season:

2023 Postseason and World Series
The Colorado Rockies have made the MLB Postseason 5 times, but are one of 6 teams never to have won the World Series.
Over the course of the last 10 years, the Rockies have appeared in the playoffs twice. The franchise last made the Postseason in 2018, when they lost 3–0 to the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Divisional Series.
The 2023 MLB Postseason will take place in October, once the regular season has ended. 12 teams qualify for the MLB Postseason, which is a 4-round playoff system: Wild Card Round (Best-of-3), Division Series (Best-of-5), Championship Series (Best-of-7), and World Series (Best-of-7).
