August’s European Masters tournament marked the true return of the World Snooker Tour for another season, and as we move closer to autumn, the game’s most popular events will soon be arriving thick and fast.
While fans might have to wait until 2024 for the next editions of The Masters and World Championship, 2023 is set to provide plenty of action and excitement at the table, including a Triple Crown Event, Home Nations Series tournaments, and a unique showdown of champions.
Here’s a closer look at what this year has to offer:
Cazoo British Open (25 Sep – 1 Oct)
Cheltenham Racecourse
Starting this week, the British Open returns to Cheltenham Racecourse. Like football’s FA Cup, there is no seeding for this tournament, and the randomized draw helps throw up some fairytale winners and giant-killing headlines.
BetVictor English Open (2 – 8 Oct)
Brentwood Centre
The first event of the 2023 Home Nations Series, the English Open offers the Steve Davis Trophy and more than £80,000 in prize money to its winner. Englishman Mark Selby will defend his title this year having defeated Luca Brecel in the Final in 2022.
BetVictor Northern Ireland Open (22 – 29 Oct)
Waterfront Hall
Another Home Nations Series event, the Northern Ireland Open is one of the most popular events on the World Snooker Tour. In 2022, more than 1,200 fans packed out Waterfront Hall for the tournament, creating an electrifying atmosphere rarely matched in snooker.
Champion of Champions (13 – 19 Nov)
University of Bolton Stadium
An event unlike any other on the World Snooker Tour, Champion of Champions brings an exclusive field of recent tournament winners together for a best-of-the-best showdown. Ronnie O'Sullivan, Mark Allen, Mark Selby, Gary Wilson, and Judd Trump are just some of the stars who will be in action at the event this year.

UK Championship (25 Nov – 03 Dec)
York Barbican
The UK Championship is the first Triple Crown Event of the season, and will feature an elite field of players looking to write their name in the history books. Taking place in the ancient city of York, the event has been played for nearly 50 years and counts legends like Alex Higgins, Jimmy White, Steve Davis, Stephen Hendry, John Higgins, and Ronnie O’Sullivan amongst its winners.
BetVictor Scottish Open (11 – 17 Dec)
Meadowbank Sports Centre
The third Home Nations Series event of the season will also be the final World Snooker Tour tournament of 2023. Hosted by Meadowbank Sports Centre in Edinburgh, the Scottish Open is set to bring festive cheer and high-quality snooker to the Scottish Capital. It will also wrap up another action-packed year for the sport, leaving fans ready for more when the second half of the season begins in 2024.
