The Big Apple. The city that never sleeps. New York, New York. It speaks for itself. No other city in the world quite made a name for itself like this one. To think at the start of the 20th century it had only a handful of high-rise buildings; now the New York skyline soars beyond our imagination. While famous landmarks like the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Central Park and Radio City to – name a few – bejewel the city like diamonds, the best thing about New York is the possibilities it provides. Whether you want your dreams of becoming rich and famous to become true or simply want a cheesecake delivered to your door at 3:00 a.m., this city will never say no.
Travellers going to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center can fly into any of these 3 airports which serve New York City:
LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is the closest of the 3 to the Tennis Center, however it offers minimal international flights. Whilst using LaGuardia (LGA) as a domestic traveller is therefore possible, travelling into either Newark (EWR) or JFK (JFK) is a better option if you are coming from abroad. Both airports are well-connected to New York City, and reaching the Tennis Center via public transport is straightforward.
New York City is usually very hot in August, with highs of 28°C and an average temperature of 24°C. The climate tends to be wet, with an average 55% chance of rain each day.
