Heinz Field is located in the North Shore area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Transportation options to Heinz Field include car, taxi, buses, light rail, and boat. There are multiple parking spaces within a short walking distance of the venue, though visitors may benefit from the free light rail shuttle offered by T Service between Downtown Pittsburgh and North Shore.

If you want to make the most of your trip, take in the stunning view of Pittsburgh from the Gateway Clipper as it cruises to North Shore.

🅿️ Parking

There are over 400 new spaces in the North Shore and the Champions Garage, which are located at the corner of West General Robinson St and Tony Dorsett Drive behind the Hyatt Place Hotel (about 600 m (7 min) walk from Heinz Field).

Entry into the Champions Garage will be from West General Robinson Street and North Shore Drive for easy access from all directions.

🚖️ Taxi

ADA Drop Off Points are located at the intersection of Art Rooney Avenue and Reedsdale Street at the Northeast corner by Gate B and on North Shore Drive at the Southwest Corner, directly across from the Carnegie Science Center.

🚆 Train

There's a free T service between Downtown Pittsburgh and North Shore destinations including PNC Park, Heinz Field, Carnegie Science Center, and others. Also, the Monongahela Incline offers a great view of Pittsburgh!

🚢 Boat

There are several boating options to transport you to Heinz Field from Station Square, Allegheny Wharf at the Clemente Bridge and the Strip. Enjoy the city views as you sail across Pittsburgh’s famous 3 rivers.

Keen tourists and sports enthusiasts will be excited by what the Cultural Quarter and North Shore have to offer. Situated across from one another on the banks of the Allegheny River, these districts are packed with the city’s best museums and most popular sports arenas.

Meanwhile, foodies and night owls will feel at home in the Strip District, which is just a few kilometres north of Downtown and the Cultural Quarter. Here you’ll find many of the city’s most famous bars and eateries offering everything from fast food to fine dining.

Those seeking Pittsburgh’s alternative side should look no further than Lawrenceville, the city’s edgy industrial district. Consider it a hipster haven frombusinesspeople eclectic vintage shops and second-hand bookshops to indie bars and vegan cafes.

If you’re travelling on a budget, consider staying in North Side. Although it’s one of the cheaper places to stay, this quirky neighbourhood is just a few kilometres from the highlights of the Cultural Quarter and Downtown.

With public buses, trains, and bikes, throughout the city, it’s easy to explore no matter where you’re staying.

About Acrisure Stadium

Acrisure Stadium is an American football stadium located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is the home field of the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL) and the Pittsburgh Panthers college football team.

📜 History

The stadium opened in 2001 under the name Heinz Field, with the H. J. Heinz Company having purchased naming rights until 2021. This deal was eventually extended for 1 extra year, but in 2022 the relationship ended and the stadium naming rights were bought by the Acrisure insurance company.

The construction of the venue used 12,000 tons of steel, with the design influenced by the city of Pittsburgh's historic connection to the steel industry. Acrisure Stadium's playing surface is made of natural grass, which has been controversial among opposing players and fans but generally supported by the Steelers and Panthers teams.

As well as hosting all Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt Panthers home games, the venue has also been used for the Women's Football Alliance Championship Game, club and international soccer matches, the NHL winter classic ice hockey match, and many high profile music concerts. In 2002, the Pittsburgh Marathon route was altered so that the finish line was on the Acrisure Stadium field, allowing runners to complete the marathon inside the stadium.

Acrisure Stadium has a standard capacity of 68,400 for football games. For concerts, this can be expanded to above 73,000.

Standard seating is available on the 100, 200, and 500 levels, while club seats offer extra comfort and amenities.

🍔 Food & Drink

Pittsburgh’s unique cuisine is well-represented in the concession stands at Acrisure Stadium. Primanti Brothers sells their famous sandwiches (stuffed with french fries and cole slaw) from two different stands, including one in the Great Hall.

Local chain Quaker Steak ‘n’ Lube also sells its wings here, and you can find 2 other local favourites: pierogis and gyros. Steelers legend Franco Harris’ name is all over the stadium food and drink scene — you’ll find both a Franco’s Italian Army Sausages and a Franco’s Pizzeria.

Acrisure Stadium’s wide beer selection can be found throughout the venue. The usual stadium beers are in plentiful supply, but you can also find regional breweries such as Southern Tier, which has a taproom just blocks away along North Shore Drive.
