Ford Field is easily accessible via car and public transportation services. Due to the stadium's ample parking, patrons have a selection of game-day parking spaces to choose from on a first come, first serve basis. We encourage visitors to make use of the multiple modes of public transportation which will drop you off within walking distance of Ford Field.
Below you can find general information on travel and parking for Ford Field. Individual events may have additional/restricted services available, and so we recommend clicking through to the event and viewing the Travel & Parking tab for event-specific information.
Ford Field, in partnership with local parking operators, manages 5,000 parking spaces surrounding Ford Field. There are also numerous privately operated parking facilities (30,000 spaces) within 1.7 km (20 min) walk to Ford Field.
General Parking
Parking facilities adjacent to Ford Field and Comerica Park are available during games and events on a first come, first serve basis. The Ford Field Parking Deck and Lots 4, 5 & 6 are managed by ABM Parking Services. 61 E. Elizabeth, "D" Garage and the Lions/Tigers Garage are the closest lots managed by Olympia Development. There are numerous parking lots surrounding Ford Field that operate public parking.
Rideshare
Guests must first download a rideshare app through their smart phone's App store and request a rideshare pick up prior to arriving at the pickup point. The rideshare pick up and drop-off point is located along the southbound W Fisher Service Drive and Witherell, near St. John's Episcopal Church.
Taxicabs
The taxicab drop-off and pick-up staging area is located on Adams Street between Witherell and John R streets. Guests should exit Gate A at Section 100. All taxicabs are asked to drop-off and pick-up in this reserved area. Contact Checker Cab at 313-963-7000 for service.
Windsor Tunnel Shuttle Bus
The Tunnel Bus, operated by Transit Windsor, offers transportation between downtown Windsor and Detroit for Lions regular season home games & most pre-season games and large events. The pick-up location after the game is at the Gratiot and Antietam bus stop, just East of Ford Field near I-375.
Shuttles
The shuttle van and mini bus staging area is located on Adams Street, between Witherell and John R. Shuttles may drop off and pick up their guests in this area. This is strictly a staging area, not a parking area. Drop-offs can begin 2 hours before game time. Staging for pickups will begin at the start of the fourth quarter. Please contact area venues for their shuttle service availability.
FAST
FAST is a service powered by SMART, which offers limited stops and connects the suburbs to downtown quickly and easily. The high-frequency service travels along 3 of Detroit's busiest corridors, Gratiot, Woodward, and Michigan, and only stops at designated FAST stops. FAST buses come every 15 minutes for peak operating hours and operate 7 days a week, even most late-nights and weekends. For only $2.00 each way FAST is affordable and gets you to your destination quickly.
Local Transportation
D-DOT The Detroit Department of Transportation (D-DOT) buses service the City of Detroit and major destinations.
Although Detroit is an inexpensive city to visit, it’s just as easy to find high-end hotels as it is to find budget hotels and hostels.
Ford Field offers a great variety of concession stands, so there should be something to suit everyone's tastes. Slows BBQ is a Detroit institution, serving pulled pork and chicken sandwiches alongside tasty mac n cheese bowls. Big Boy offers classic burgers, fries, and milkshakes, while Lefty's Cheesesteaks is renowned for its hoagies. If you're looking for pizza, try Hungry Howie's or Goalpost Grill & Pizzeria. There are also stands selling nachos, popcorn, hot dogs, Polish sausages, pretzels, and much more besides. Visitors hoping for a drink can enjoy a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including beer, hard seltzer, spirits, and soda.
Gluten Free
Several stands offer gluten free options, which include Nacho Grande, hot dogs and hamburgers without buns, potato chips, peanuts, popcorn, and a selection of alcoholic drinks.
Q-Line
Owned and operated by M-1 Rail, the Q-Line can place fans very close to Ford Field. With a 6.6-mile circulating streetcar loop serving 12 stops on Woodward Ave. From Downtown Detroit through Midtown, New Center and the North End, Ford Field guests can find a station conveniently located near almost any parking facility along Woodward Ave.
Nearest Stations
For Detroit Lions games, gates will open 2 hours prior to kick-off. Opening times for other events will vary. Guests can enter through Gates A, B, C, D, F, G and the Gate G Bridge. All visitors will be subject to inspection procedures at the gates, which could include a modified pat down, metal detecting hand-wand, walk-through metal detectors and bag inspections.
Baby Changing
Baby changing tables are located in the restrooms on Levels 1 and 2. On the Club levels, the changing tables are located in the family restrooms. Ford Field also has 3 Mother's Nursing Rooms at Sections 133, 225, and Level 4 of the Bodman Suites elevator lobby. Guests without a Club or Suite Ticket can visit Gate A or G Guest Services at Section 100 for a pass to the suite level.
Restrooms
Ford Field has 105 restrooms most of which are ADA Accessible. This includes 13 family restrooms which are for parents/guardians with children and disabled guests only.
Service Animals
Animals are not permitted in or on the facility grounds with the exception of trained service animals for guests needing assistance.
Escalators
Escalators to the 200 and 300 levels are located at Gate A at Section 100 and Gate G at Section 112. Only Club and Suite ticket holders and guests with Club or Suite passes may utilize the escalators on Level 2 to access the South Club and Suite levels.
Accessible Parking
Disabled parking is available on game days in Lot 4 (on Montcalm St. located just north of Ford Field and east of Brush Street) and the Ford Field Parking Deck (on St. Antoine off of Madison). Spots are available on a first-come, first serve basis to our guests with the appropriate disabled permit and a state-issued license plate or placard. All Ford Field parking facilities are ADA compliant. Guests needing assistance can enter through most Ford Field gates and may utilize any passenger elevator.
Drop-off/Pick-up Area
The Drop-off and Pick-up areas are located on the corners of Montcalm and Brush near Gate B at Section 133, and Adams and John R outside of Gate A at Section 100. Please note that street closures and shuttle buses may impact these areas. Guests should always follow the direction of Law Enforcement Officers and Traffic Directors.
Disabled/ADA Seat Relocation
Guest should contact the Ford Field Ticket Office in advance at 313-262-2167 for more information and availability. Seat relocation on game and event days is based on availability. For guests needing assistance that do not have disabled or wheelchair seating for the game/event, tickets may be exchanged for disabled/wheelchair seating depending upon availability. Guests who utilize a wheelchair, walker, cane or crutches may be relocated. Tickets can be exchanged on game and event days inside of Ford Field at the Advance Ticket Windows at Gate A located on the side of the escalators by Section 100 or Gate G located next to the escalators by Section 112.
Restroom Facilities
Most restrooms and all family restrooms are accommodated with wheelchair accessible facilities.
Wheelchairs
Guests are encouraged to bring their own ADA Mobility devices including canes, crutches, walkers, scooters, and wheelchairs. On gameday, wheelchairs are available for transporting guests from the Guest Services locations to their stadium seats but will not be available for use during the event. Guests can be picked up at the conclusion of the event and brought back to the gate. Guests should contact the nearest Guest Services representative or usher for coordination.

First Aid
All First Aid locations will open two hours prior to kick-off and remain open a half hour after the game. In the event of minor incidents (i.e. headache, scrapes, etc.), please feel free to walk in to the nearest First Aid location. In case of serious illness or injury please contact the nearest Ford Field representative.

Lost and Found
During large events, all found property should be turned in to the nearest Guest Service location. For guests looking to claim or inquire about a lost item, please visit the nearest Guest Service location or Gate A Guest Services Desk (behind the escalators) at Section 100, until 1 hour after the game or event. Guests may complete a form indicating the description of the lost item, the last known location, and the guest's contact information. Everything possible will be done to locate the legal owners, and return the property to them.
If you lost an item while at Ford Field please call the Lost & Found hotline at 313-262-2999. Please be prepared to give a full description of the item, the game/event you attended and the possible location where it was lost.
Ford Field has a capacity of approximately 65,000. However, the capacity does differ between events depending on the seating configuration.
