The Etihad Stadium is located in Manchester, 2.9 km east of the city centre. It is easily accessible by car or public transport including by bus or tram, and it is within walking distance from the city centre.
Below you can find general information on travel and parking for Etihad Stadium. Individual events may have additional/restricted services available, and so we recommend clicking through to the event and viewing the Travel & Parking tab for event-specific information.
Event parking is available onsite in the Blue Car Parks G and H, accessed from Alan Turing Way (Gate 2).* Parking is paid on arrival and prices are as follows:**
On matchdays, home supporter coaches park in the Blue Car Park. Visiting supporter coach parking is available in the Grey Car Park C and D, accessible via Ashton New Road (Gate 7). Both the coach and car parks will be open 3 hours before kick-off until 1 hour after the final whistle on the day of the match. Parking is not permitted on the streets surrounding the venue.
There is also a Metrolink Park and Ride scheme, with free parking available for Metrolink customers at Ashton West (Ashton-under-Lyne, OL7 0PG) and Ashton Moss (Ashton-under-Lyne, OL6 7UB).
* Gates will be locked and cars are left at own risk overnight.

Parking on non-matchdays is free in the Blue Car Park.
Blue Badge parking is available on-site in the Blue car park, however, it is limited due to the number already allocated to seasonal supporters.
Taxis can pick up and drop off at the roads surrounding the venue.
Bus is a popular way to reach the Etihad Stadium because of its connections with multiple routes:
The Etihad Stadium has a dedicated tram stop, Etihad Campus. It is adjacent to the stadium, located in City Square.
Metrolink runs from the city centre including Manchester Piccadilly station to Etihad Campus stop and on towards Ashton. The journey time from Piccadilly is less than 10 minutes. On event days, trams run to/from the stadium stop every 6 minutes.
Tickets must be purchased before travel, ticket machines are located on every Metrolink platform.
Please note that both Holt Town and Velopark Metrolink stops, located on either side of the Etihad Campus stop, will not be open for at least an hour after an event at the Stadium so is is strongly advised you use the Etihad Campus stop for your return journey.
As a major English city, Manchester’s accommodation can be quite costly, although there are a number of brilliant budget hotels and hostels for those watching their pennies. Manchester is certainly not short of swanky modern and grand traditional high-end hotels for those more concerned about luxury either.
There are 32 entry gates running around the circumference of the stadium in alphabetical order.
Of those, the 2 primary entrances are the Main Entrance – The Colin Bell Stand (F), and the East Stand Entrance (U).

These entrances are clearly signposted and lifts are available at each for supporters on Levels 2 and 3.
There are 42 wheelchair accessible toilets within the Etihad Stadium; 16 toilets on Level 1, 20 toilets on Level 2 and 6 toilets on Level 3. All toilets are fitted with RADAR locks and keys that are available from nearby stewards.
Every concourse washroom has one compartment (cubicle) that is suitable for ambulant supporters.
There are accessible toilets located in City Square.
Our changing places room is located in the South Stand on Level 1. This contains a hoist (loop slings only which must be provided by the supporter), a changing table, shower, toilet, and height-adjustable sink. The room can be accessed via a RADAR key.
Both at City Square and around the stadium there are food kiosks featuring fan favourites such as fish and chips, street food and pizza.
Inside the stadium there are designated accessible counters, these are lowered and clearly signed.
Designated counters also contain drinking straws, which are available on request.
Not including private viewing boxes, there are 255 wheelchair positions at the Etihad Stadium:
Assistant seating will be situated as close as possible to the wheelchair bays.
Powered wheelchairs and scooters are permitted inside the stadium but the maximum speed is 4 mph. Please note, larger scooters may not be able to access some wheelchair positions.
All ambulant supporters are able to enjoy the game in the Etihad Stadium with their personal assistant (subject to qualification and requirement), from any seat they choose.
If, for any reason, any ambulant supporter feels they have more specific seating requirements (a certain area, block or row) they should contact the Club’s Disability Access Team to discuss their requirements in more detail.
We ask all supporters to consider the height and rake of the Level 3 stands as they may not be suitable.
Handrails are available to provide support should you choose to sit on this level. Every effort will be made to accommodate such requests, subject to availability.
The Club have induction loop equipment in all reception areas, the club shop, ticket office and at designated and signed food kiosks in the stadium.
On match days at the Etihad Stadium, information will be carried on the electronic scoreboard and via the Public Address System.
The Club do not currently have a textphone/minicom system, however we are investigating the possibility, along with how the Club can make or receive calls using RNIDs ‘Text Relay’ System.
Complimentary headsets are provided at the Etihad Stadium upon request to enable supporters to listen to the audio match commentary and can be pre-ordered through the club.
Upon request the Club will take steps to provide accessible information on CD, large print and Braille. The news articles on the official Manchester City website are fully accessible for blind and partially sighted supporters who use text based browsers (with the exception of any video content).
For EDS fixtures, Audio Descriptive Commentary equipment will need to be pre-ordered no later than 48 hours before the fixture.
All supporters are able to sit anywhere in the Etihad Stadium to enjoy the game, from any seat they choose. If, for any reason, any supporter with learning difficulties or unseen disabilities feels they have more specific seating requirements (a certain area, block or row) they should contact the club to discuss their requirements in more detail.
Every effort will be made to accommodate such requests, subject to availability. Requests for personal assistants will be given due consideration and where provided, supporters will be required to complete a Personal Assistant Registration Form.
Any supporter wishing to attend the Etihad Stadium with an assistance dog must contact the club on +44 (0)161 444 1894 or email access@mancity.com so that they can ensure the appropriate match tickets (subject to availability) are allocated and adequate arrangements have been made.
Supporters suffering from temporary mobility restrictions (e.g. broken leg) that may affect access to the Etihad Stadium, should contact the club ahead of the match to arrange alternative seating (subject to availability).
At the Etihad Stadium, there are 21 visiting supporter wheelchair bays. 12 are located on a Super Riser on Level 1 of the South Stand and 9 are located on the Level 2 platform immediately above the visiting supporter section.
The wheelchair bays located on Level 2 do not have direct access to the concourse.
Accessible toilets are accessible either on the Box Level corridor or there are facilities adjacent to Legends. In relation to food and drink, an order pad will be handed to visiting disabled supporters when they arrive. Orders will be taken up to 15 minutes before kick-off (for service before kick-off) and up to five minutes after kick-off (for half-time service).
Food and drink will be delivered to the seat approx. 15 minutes after the order has been placed or at the start of half-time if ordered beforehand. Cash is paid on delivery. In line with the Ground Regulations, there will be no alcohol served in these locations.
Complimentary headsets are provided at the Etihad Stadium upon request to enable blind or partially sighted supporters to listen to the audio match commentary; these can be ordered through the Club’s Access Officer.
An induction loop system is installed at the Etihad Stadium South Stand Ticket Office which is used by visiting supporters.
If, for any reason, any visiting supporter feels they have more specific seating requirements (a certain area, block or row in the away end) they should contact their own Club’s Access Officer who will liaise with Manchester City Football Club. Every effort will be made to accommodate such requests, subject to availability.
A number of accessible car parking spaces are made available to visiting supporters. Manchester City FC will advise the opposing Club’s Access Officer and/or a member of their Ticketing Team with regards to the number of bays available and any qualifying sales criteria. Minibuses and coaches are free of charge.
There are several bike racks around the stadium for those who cycle.
There is an official walking route from the city centre and Piccadilly Station, which starts from the bottom of Pollard Street. From there, the stadium is 2.6 km (31 min) walk. Head down Pollard Street and turn right onto Merrill Street, which will become Ashton New Road. Continue until you come to the stadium.
Etihad Stadium has a capacity of approximately 60,000. However, the capacity does differ between events depending on the seating configuration.
