Brighton Racecourse is just a mile from the town centre, so there’s not far to travel once you’ve made it there. There are train and bus services connecting the course to the centre. Due to the good road links and ample free parking at the venue, driving is a popular way to arrive.

Brighton Racecourse is easy to reach from the A27 Brighton bypass. If you are approaching Brighton on the A23, you need to go east on the A27. Head for signs directing you to Sussex University and take the B2123 to Woodingdean, turn right at the traffic lights and the Racecourse is approximately one mile on your left-hand side. This is the recommended route to avoid traffic congestion through the city centre, however, the racecourse is well sign-posted if you choose to enter central Brighton on the A23.
If you're coming from the seafront, head for the Brighton Palace Pier before driving eastbound along Marine Parade. Turn left at the first set of lights into Lower Rock Gardens. Turn right at the second set of lights into Edward Street, then first left into Freshfield Road. The racecourse is at the top of the hill.
Car parking is free at the racecourse. There is designated accessible car parking situated by the main entrance.

Coaches and other bus services from the centre of Brighton and further afield run scheduled services to coincide with racecourse events.
Rail services run to Brighton from London Bridge, Kings Cross, Victoria, Eastbourne, Lewes, Hastings, Portsmouth, and Worthing. From the station, you can walk, or take a taxi. For large events and racedays, shuttle buses are available.
While Brighton is the second most expensive city to live in the UK, due to its sunny coastline and cultural treasures, it’s entirely possible to visit on a budget. As a tourist hub, everything from luxury boutique hotels to affordable hostels and B&Bs are up for grabs. While you’ll most definitely pay a premium for a beachfront sea-view location, head slightly inland to find more reasonably priced accommodation.
Different bars and food outlets will be available depending on how busy the fixture is likely to be. From a table in the restaurant to a pulled pork bap or burger & chips on the concourse, there is something to suit everyone’s taste. There is a selection of bars situated throughout the racecourse, providing easy access to beverages in all enclosures. From champagne to craft ales, there’s something for everyone, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere of the races.
Picnics are allowed in the Grandstand & Paddock external areas of the racecourse but not in the Premier Enclosure. The picnic car park will be open during the season.
No alcohol can be brought into the racecourse.
Barbecues are not allowed to be used at the racecourse.

Light aircraft and helicopters may land at Shoreham Airport with prior permission, 6 miles west of the Racecourse. Please contact the airport for approval on 01273 296900.
Brighton Racecourse is a 2.7 km (32 min) walk from the centre of Brighton and Brighton Palace Pier, however, there is plenty to see and do closer to the course. There are shops, bars, and eateries nearby and the beach is just a 1.7 km (20 min) walk away.

There are toilet facilities conveniently located throughout the venue in all areas.
There are baby changing facilities at the course. They are located in both the men’s and women’s toilets in the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure.
Brighton Racecourse hosts a range of horse racing fixtures throughout the spring and summer months when the UK flat racing season is in full swing. The biggest meeting at the racecourse is the Festival of Racing in August.
Brighton Racecourse ticket prices vary depending on a number of factors including the event, the enclosure the ticket is for, and the seller. For example, tickets for the Premier Enclosure offering greater access around the course will be more expensive than those for the Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure. Similarly, tickets may be more expensive on a bigger raceday like during the Festival of Racing than at one of the smaller fixtures. Walk-up tickets may be available for racedays that have not already sold out. Brighton Racecourse offers an ample amount of public parking which is free for all attendees of the race meeting. As the course is close to the city centre, traffic around the course can build up at peak times, so early arrival is advised to avoid delays getting into the venue.
