The Terra Wortman Open, also known as the Halle Open and formerly known as the Noventi Open, is an annual men's tennis tournament held in Halle Westfalen. The event was founded in 1993 and is part of the men's ATP 500 tour.
Like other grass court tournaments which take place at the same time, the Terra Wortmann Open is seen as a key warm-up for the upcoming Wimbledon Grand Slam. Indeed, players who choose to play in the Terra Wortmann Open are unlikely to have their competitive preparation affected by adverse weather – although it is an outdoor tournament, the tournament's Centre Court has a retractable roof allowing play to continue indoors.
As well as being a key warm-up event, it is also worth noting that the Terra Wortmann Open title is also highly-coveted in its own right; the tournament was famously a favourite of Roger Federer – he won the Halle trophy a whopping 10 times – a sign of the event's pedigree.
