A great place to watch top class Badminton
This was my first BWF event and it was an awesome experience. Some feedback. 1. Checks and entering the event venue was smooth and well done. 2. There were many events like, meet and greet, games, practice courts, t-shirt,s and other good sales, etc outside and near the mall. However, there was no information about them, like a list or directory anywhere. We would have never known if we had not stepped out for a break! 3. A scoreboard outside may also help patrons plan their breaks better on when to return.
The chairs are horrible. The floor boards are detached so whoever walks on it creates prolonged trembling sensation for everyone. The food is horrible. Never mind it’s overpriced, I can understand and accept the over pricing but I cannot accept the atrocious quality of food and coffee. Axiata Malaysia is a ton better than SG open’s event.
Overall, I felt this year volunteer or committee members to not be as sporting and helpful as last year. There are some volunteer who are lovely and helpful but the rest (mostly) made us feel as though we attended free event. Worst part of all days throughout the tournament were we felt like being chased out from the stadium, understand the stadium needed to clean and prep for next day but we faced the same situation until the last day on final game. No complain on the facilities and we were very comfortable at our seats but we always leave the tournament with unhappy feelings every day. It made us reconsider whether or not to attend next year Singapore Badmitnon Open again.
There are many great memories and moments of the week hope to come next year
Event venue is centralised, security very strict... The list of prohibited items should be announced or made known. The food catering have limited variety, and quite pricey
Overall, the atomsphere and views are ok. However, I realized that the lighting at section 224 is not sufficient. As such, it can be difficult to take photos as it will turn out dark. It is also not appopriate to use flash too
The ticketing system should really improve! My friends and I click in, right after the ticket on sales (early bird), but all the nice seats have been selected immediately, within a few seconds I guess, it's unfair and weird, as this is my first encountered thorough all these years, as a badminton fan and loyal spectators for Singapore Open since 2014, I cannot even choose a seat in those good section, or the system let me choose the seat I want, but rejected me when I am going to pay? Am I really that slow in buying that ticket and I am curious is there really so many badminton fans in Singapore now and to top it off, I saw empty seats in the session (210,211,212) at the tournament days, so who is buying the ticket?
Sincerely think that, instead of letting people choose the seat, for seasonal buyer, system might just select the seat for the buyer randomly, as long as the seat is in the same section thorough the event days, It's more simple, easy and time saving.
and there is lot of people sit wherever they like, even it's seated ticket, maybe usher at the event can do more on this?
1. Was disappointed with my seat in Section 308, Row 31, Seat 1, as numerous video cameras on tripods were placed by unknown individuals to capture specific matches. I couldn't discern if they were officials or spectators. Unfortunately, these cameras blocked my view, making the experience unpleasant, especially considering we paid for unobstructed views. I hope the organizers investigate the origin of these cameras and ensure they're placed according to regulations. We didn't pay for this kind of viewing experience.
2. The stadium toilet was not regularly cleaned and was very smelly and unhygienic.
3. The water from the cooler had an overpowering pungent odor.
Thank you.
Overall is good.
Relating to the tickets checking on particular. Trusted it can manage n more systematic. The usher who on duty are too friendly.
In facts alot of fans have not followed by seat to their own place.
Hope on this the organisation can improve on this .
This is just my one cent on input.
Thanks
A very well organised tournament.
Great standard, good venue
I am giving a good rating only because I love watching my favourite players play! But the organisation of the event was bad. No food items were available within the campus for fans. No place where we could watch our favourite players and take their autographs
Amazing event , excellent results
Match viewing experience is good. No issues with that. Washrooms are clean. But there's no provision of drinking water anywhere in the entire complex. VVIPs/VIPs are having buffet lunch, dinner, are getting served coffees, water and other facilities available as well. No issues with them availing those facilities, but atleast allow the commoners to get their own water and some eatables. If that's no possible, atleast set-up a canteen and drinking water facilities.
This time management was good. Last year it was a hassle. This was a great great experience. I came & enjoyed 3 days it was super good.
Great competition from the world’s best
+ Fantastic air con.
+ high quality of the Badminton
+ plenty of staff available to help
- no seats allocated on the first 3 days
- extremely limited menu in the one cafe
- extremely difficult to buy tickets outside Japan
- tickets most expensive we have come across (and we have been all over the world)
- premium seats had a restricted view (only 50% of the court was visible due to advertising hoardings, scoring monitors, tv cameras, the referees/medical staff desk and the umpires chair)
- permanent seating was unsuitable for this event as it was too far away from the courts
- no public wi-fi at the event
- lots of concrete steps inside and outside the venue ( no escalators no lifts)
- absolutely no consideration for any foreign visitors to attend
- no signage for visitors to find their entrance
The atmosphere and activities was great! I came from Thailand and I’m sure I’ll be here again next year
Great opportunity to see the big name players up close and in action since it was upgraded from super 500 to 750 this year. The fans and cheering made the atmosphere that much more exciting and thrilling as we were kept on the edge of our seats by the intense and spectacular athletic performance presented by the players. The only gripe I have is that the money grubbing organizers, presumably Singapore Sports Council or the management or the indoor stadium is overly restrictive on the external food and drinks policy and so many people had to just dump their food that they did not even intend to consume within the premises.
