thank you Nick Taylor for salvaging what was a horrible Open...choice of venue and organization a disaster.... I look forward to this event all year but this one ....well forget this choice of Oakdale...brutal set up organization and please never go there again ..... and a lame field...
With all the great courses in Canada to choose from for our national Open, why Oakdale, what an awful venue and awful open experience.... been to several and this was the worst venue I've ever been to....
I've been attending Canadian Opens for years all over our country and this was by far and away the worst course and most disorganized poorly run of them all...never would I ever attend at this venue again...disgusting.... only the end with Nick Taylor made it worthwhile...otherwise a disaster...shame on you golf canada for selecting such an awful venue
Horrible event organization...the course too easy for the pros.... long lines, hard to get to the course....would never attend an event at this course ever again... horrible for our national open, bad choice by Golf Canada to go to this venue and to think they're going back again, omg....I won't attend....
Very shocked and disappointed. Drove for 90 minutes to the public parking lot. Arrived to find mayhem. A huge lineup to get into the lot only to find out that’s it was full. No other lots available. Was told to monitor social media to get updates on how they were going to handle the problem. Easier said than done. Very poorly organized especially for a National Open.
Outstanding event. Beautiful settings.
An amazing experience! The food was delicious and the golf played was phenomenal! Staff was very kind and helpful as well. Would definitely recommend going this coming tournament.
Such a fun event! It’s like the Masters meets tailgating!
This is usually a very well run and therefore enjoyable tournament. This year, however, they “went big”. The event was seriously oversold. The clubhouse tickets were great if eating and drinking in the clubhouse was your aim but the on course venues were so oversold as to be not worth the effort. They had limited seating and a policy that allowed reentry so once they filled up, there was little chance to get in. We all waited in line for upwards of an hour watching people go back in from the concession stands. This happened at both holes 8 and 15. Many of us just left. The tickets were worthless if you wanted to watch golf.
Awesome Valero Open Tournament. Yhe Pros make playing golf look easy. Looking forward to next year.
I got presedential tickets. It was hard to know what to do and where we could go. The food was ok nothing great. I'm extremely disappointed in the field of players, I would not attend again if there will not be more top ranked players
My nephew who is in a wheelchair was denied access to a wheelchair accessible exit because he didn’t have a vip ticket. This is absurd that he had to be carried by his friends up and down stairs when there was an accessible exit available. Shame on [the organisers].
We had an excellant time.
Weather was hot but we had covered seats in the White Claw Fan Deck.
First of all I live in and retired in Puerto Rico the people and the culture are great. And with that saying that goes for the open. I was a walking scorer my third year in a row and it just is an amazing experience.
If Arnold Palmer was still alive he would not approve. First the parking lot 10. No way to really tell where your car is. No isle numbers or any way to tell where you car is. Tickets. The markup from Ticketmaster is criminal. I paid about $225 for General admission and parking. Most of the markup was hidden after you agreed to purchase the tickets. Probably $100. There are vey few places for the general admission patron to sit. Almost all of the seating is corporate. The general admission seating is full. Concessions were a joke. I went to 3 places before I could get a hot dog. After I bought it there was no mustard or ketchup. Asked for water but they ran out. Bought a $6 coke that was never put in ice or refrigerated. She forgot. The golf was good and the course seemed to be in good shape. I have been to this event many times and never had this experience. I twill be my last visit.
Beautiful
Beautifully maintained courses and facilities! Made it easy to have a fun and relaxing day! Will be attending again!
Great time, but lost my blue earring - hoping there is a lost/found. The set up was great. Nice to see the players close-up. Wish there had been more familiar ones as far as the pros but I think golfers like Phil Nicholson were playing another tournament in the middle east.
Stay away from Premium Pass plus poor organization
The experience was great at the golf course . I wished that they would expand on the trolly system like it used to be to go out further to the hotels to pick up people. I had to walk a looooong way to catch the trolly only to be taken to another transfer point to wait for another trolly.
