Disgraceful Treatment. Tried for over a year to return tickets. Sent dozens of emails to all parts of Ryder Cup. Not one reply not a single one UNTIL three months out when a general email finally arrived telling me they were non-refundable. I lost nearly £2k on tickets. Would have been my 4th Ryder. Never again.
I must be the only golf enthusiast with coeliac. Absolutely nothing in terms of gluten-free or allergy information. You get told to ask the staff at the different eating venues - guess what? Not a single one I asked provided GF& I asked several. So thanks for leading me to believe there would be at least one place that would cater for GF as opposed to NONE! If you don’t mind starving all day it is a great day out! PS if there is a GF food seller then maybe [they] should have made that clear - no wait maybe I was supposed to ask every single food seller right?
Great golf, beautiful weather, excellent venues!
Lacking places to sit snd rest! Im elderly and it was very difficult to get a breather around concessions ! I jumped on standing golf carts to rest’
The course was great, but there was a lot that wasn't. There was no accommodations for any one with a handicap. The food in the BMW pavilion was the worst. We stayed in the BMW pavilion on the 15th green and we had a perfect view. of that green. We have attended the last 4 in the Chicago area and this one ranked the worst.
An excellent day on the friday....weather perfect.Thousands of people so food stations were a real problem and trying to get in and out of the stands was also a slow progress but once in the stand stay where you are!!
Must mention the park and ride.a complete shambles. Parked in the North car park walked 10 mins to a bus which took us....... not to the entrance gate as expected but over 1km away.Had to walk this never ending distance!!! Then had to get back and que for the bus and to get out of the stupid car park. Would NOT reccommend this to anyone
Brilliant organisation through out - sadly let down dramatically with very poor planning at end on Saturday - we waited 2 and 1/4 hours to get out the gate. - [they] simply weren't organized and just lost control completely- very very poor
Great venue, parking close was a bonus. Just had a really good time.
It was a miracle we could attent the first day.
The busdriver let far too many people into the bus even on the upperdeck people were standing as on the lower one.
Somewhere on the way he crashed into the boardwalk ,the bus nearly toppled over, passengers screaming and falling over each other.
The busdriver did not even bother apologise, stopped the bus kicked the dent and went on in the same way.
Finally on the course there were 3 things which in my opinion need some inprovement next year:
8 people checking bags instead of 4
More garbagebins
beter signage.
Had a great time and thought overall was well run. Improvements could be made with car parking (debacle leaving car park with only 1 exit and staff lost control of situation) + improvement in on line tix booking as I bought a grandstand tix for Sunday unaware that I already had this privilege with tix+ tickets. A warning this is a double up when booking would be helpful
Fantastic venue, great car parking close to entrance, let down by poor quality catering
Great set up, good stands excellent choice of foods, toilets and vantage points. Disappointed that there was no physical programme, not keen on using an app and the prices for the merchandise were excessive. £12 for a ball marker ! Even the most exclusive clubs only charge a fiver. Other than that a great success
I haven't been since 2017 .. since then the pricing structure ticket issuing and cost has become somewhat unfair and has risen so much .. its now hard to justify the prices. The event however I loved and went each year with my dad when he was able to go. Maybe I'll be back one day but not for now
easy to purchase tickets, constant updates about the event, we'll sign posted at the event, plenty of information points. overall a great day,, only downside was after the event finished the organization to leave the car parks was atrocious, it was basically a free for all, cars coming from all directions to one exit point,, eventually the police turned up to direct traffic on the exit road, and marshalls finally showed up to filter traffic, it took two hours to exit car park and get onto a road, utter shambles and spoiled what was otherwise an excellent day.
Public parking a disgrace. It took over an hour and a half to finally get out of the car park. Not enough experienced marshals. They blame the police for only allowing one gate to be used. Great event can be easily spoilt!!!
Great time. Remote parking and shuttle was very good with easy in and out.
Was disappointed with the venue it was like a maze trying to go from hole to hole...it was impossible and frustrating to try to follow one group from 1st to the 18th hole..we are comparing this to our last us open in pebble beach in 2019, it was a far better experience for us in every way .
Like everyone here, must chime in and say an awful choice of venue with Oakdale...talking to members at the tournament they were surprised they were selected to host given they had to convert a hole to be used as a range...the routing of the course across 3 nine hole courses to produce one 18, lousy part of the city on and on....
Goodbye Oakdale, what a horrible Open venue, we agree with everyone here....disgusting bad experience at Oakdale
Oakdale such a disappointment....lousy venue the worst Open we've been to
Our families all hated the Open this year...the venue was awful, lousy location, hard to get to and the organization a joke
