The Minnesota Twins are an American professional baseball team that compete in MLB's American League Central division. The club play their home games at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
📜 Minnesota Twins History
Originally known as the Washington Senators, the Minnesota Twins franchise was established in 1901 and spent 60 years in the DC area. The team relocated to Minnesota for the start of the 1961 season and took on its current moniker in reference to the adjoining "Twin Cities" that it would now call home – Minneapolis and St. Paul.
After time spent at Metropolitan Stadium and the Hubert H Humphrey Metrodome, the Twins moved into Target Field in 2010. A year after its opening, ESPN Magazine called Target Field "the best stadium in North America", and the Twins continue to play home games at the impressive, limestone venue to this day.
With 12 division titles and 3 World Series championships to their name, the Twins have enjoyed success at the highest level of the game over the years. However, with their last visit to a World Series occurring all the way back in 1991, the franchise of celebrated hall-of-famers like Harmon Killebrew and Jim Kaat will be hoping for a return to glory in the 2020s.
