Manchester United are a football club playing in the English Premier League. United have won more trophies than any other club in English football and are the most successful team in the Premier League era, with more than twice as many titles as their nearest rivals.

They play their home games at Old Trafford. 

📜 Manchester United History

Founded in 1872 as Newton Heath, they were renamed Manchester United in 1902. The club’s first period of sustained success came under Sir Matt Busby in his tenure as manager between 1945 and 1969, when the team – nicknamed the “Busby Babes” – overcame the tragedy of the Munich air disaster in 1958 to win a number of trophies including the club’s first European Cup. 

Sir Alex Ferguson revitalised the team again during his spell in charge between 1986 and 2013, establishing the Red Devils as one of the biggest and most successful football clubs in the world, with legendary players such as the "Class of '92" – which included the likes of David Beckham, Paul Scholes, and Gary Neville – through to stars such as Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Under Ferguson, the team became known for their relentless never-say-die attitude, which combined with their penchant for late goals, led to many dramatic finishes over the years.

The decade since Ferguson's retirement has been a mixed one for United as they seek to reestablish themselves among Europe's footballing elite.
