The Los Angeles Angels are an American professional baseball team that compete in MLB's American League West division. The club play their home games at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California.
📜 Los Angeles Angels History
Founded in 1961 by the "Singing Cowboy" Gene Autry, the Los Angeles Angels were MLB's first team to originate in California. While Wrigley Field, close to the center of LA, was the team's original home, the Angels moved to the suburb of Anaheim in 1966 and have remained there ever since.
One-time World Series champions, the LA Angels took home their lone Commissioner's Trophy in 2002, defeating fellow Californians the San Francisco Giants 4–3 to claim victory. The Angels have won the AL West Division 9 times – most recently in 2014.
Based close to the coast in desirable Orange County, and with a stadium just 4 miles from Disneyland, the LA Angels are the envy of many teams when it comes to location and continue to attract some of the best players in the game. Today, the team's roster includes future hall-of-famer Mike Trout and 2-way sensation Shohei Ohtani – the most complete combination of pitcher and hitter since Babe Ruth. With so much talent on the field, it's only a matter of time until the Angels secure an elusive second World Series title.
