Hubert Hurkacz is a Polish tennis player, and his country's highest-ranked men's singles player ever.
📜 Hubert Hurkacz History
Hurkacz was born in Wrocław, Poland, in 1997, to a family of tennis enthusiasts and players. His first professional ATP-level main draw victory came in 2018, at Roland-Garros. Just a year later, at the 2019 Winston-Salem Open, Hurkacz collected his first ATP-level singles title.
In 2020, Hurkacz won the Paris Masters doubles title with Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, and at the beginning of the next year he increased his tally of singles titles, first triumphing at the Delray Beach Open, in Florida, and then winning again in the same state, this time at the Miami Open. The 2021 season also saw Hurkacz record his best finish at a grand slam, defeating Daniil Medvedev and Roger Federer en route to the semifinals. He also entered the top-10 of the ATP singles rankings for the first time. In 2023 the Pole won the Shanghai Masters singles title.
Hubert Hurkacz possesses an all-court game, but his most notable attributes are arguably his strong serve and ability to defend his baseline. He can hit deep shots from both the forehand and backhand sides, but can also win points via serving-and-volleying.
