Dundee United are a Scottish professional football club who play their home games at Tannadice Park. Their nicknames include the Terrors and the Tangerines.
📜 Dundee United History
Dundee United were formed in 1909, known at the time as Dundee Hibernian. They joined the Scottish Football League the following year, and they adopted the United name in 1923 to broaden their appeal beyond the Irish Catholic community after being saved from going out of business by local entrepreneurs.
Since 1960, the club have spent the majority of their history competing in the Scottish top flight, winning their first and only league title in 1983.
The title victory came amid the club's most successful period; they had lifted their first honours with back-to-back Scottish League Cups in 1980 and 1981, and the 1980s also saw them reach the semifinals of the European Cup and the final of the UEFA Cup.
