Fantastic tournament and stunning course, I had a brilliant week
Agree with the guy before me. Shocking shuttle service for buses. Not enough of them at Longniddry Station then going back the bus left at 5pm instead if 5.10pm. Meant we missed the connecting train and waited 1 hour at the station for tge next train. Take your car !
Golf was great but the access was appalling. The trains run infrequently, the buses can’t accomodate the numbers and on Friday left the venue at 5 pm not 510 as scheduled just as we arrived at the stop , This meant we missed our train
We then waited another 40 Montfort then bus which didn’t meet any train leaving us wait at the train station for which for then train which was then delayed also
It took two and a half hours to get from the golf to Edinburgh- yhis wouldn’t meet the standards in most third world countries!
From the moment we arrived at the car park to time we got back to car later everything was so well organised Bus drivers so friendly, ticket booths gave us wonderful welcome The coffee and food experience excellent The golf was top class Was great to be close to so many legends Being Irish we were very proud of the golfers and of The Irish Open Thank you Excellent facilities Felt the shop could have displayed more products No caps in which I love to collect until 3rd day of Open otherwise we had a fantastic time
Parking is horrific and the signs and lack thereof are misleading. We missed Thursday because all the public parking was FULL and no alternatives. We soent time, effort, and money to get here. Fingers crossed the next two days are better.
Brilliant experience- very well organised - Credit to Belfry for a great course and competition.
Brilliant event on the golfing calendar. Brilliant golfers of world standing. Just a shame that the Foxtel coverage has a lady, Ally, commentator who has great knowledge but can’t say ‘for’ and can’t pronounce her ‘o’s and drives me made saying ‘ FUR’ instead!!!!
So I’ve turned off the commentary and am listening to music instead!
This was one of my favourite events. The golf course at Dom Pedro Victoria in Vilamoura is of the highest standards from layout to the organisation.
I would recommend the experience to any golf lover or even anyone who is a beginner in golf and would like to experience a live event.
There are many cafes and food vans in the public area, in addition to the hospitality designated area.
There is even some sun chairs around, so you can relax, enjoy the sun and watch the game.
A tip would be to buy your tickets at least a week in advance as prices go up on the same week, I bought mine via koobit.com for 18/person/day. But on the day of the event it was 25€ per day to be purchased at the entrance, and line will depend on the timing of day, lunch time the lines were shorter.
Also another recommendation is to stay in Tivoli hotel, not only it’s a fantastic hotel but also you can be luck to meet some golf champions there, besides it is just ten min from the course.
I had such a great time at Portugal Masters. It was so easy to get tickets and information about the event through Koobit! I’m very pleased with my experience with Koobit and will be definitely using it again for future events!
Amazing!!!
Visited for 2 days in 2021 at Royal St George's with my brother. We had a really fantastic time and the anticipation was even greater having not been to a live event in over 2 years due to Covid. Everything was well managed and really enjoyed the golf and course.
Heard some people say they had issues with parking but we got dropped off as stayed nearby.
Hope to return in 2022 up in Scotland.
good facilities, very well organised especially the parking, found the USA fans quite obnoxious though which hampers the viewing experience - just wait til next time when its back on European soil!
Great experience, atmosphere, and course
My family and I had a fantastic time here - great views of the course and top-class facilities, very well organised
The park &ride was a absolute joke so badly run you couldn’t make it up my three year old grandson could have organised it better the golf was good but the park &ride completely ruined the day
