Unfortunately, there was a lack of toilet vans.
There was also a lack of seating around the course. A few beer tent benches could simply be set up.
Sorry, ich muß auf Deutsch schreiben....leider waren wir diesmal micht ganz zufrieden. Es gab viel zuwenig Toiletten bzw die, die es gab, waren defekt!! (zb Loch 5 und 18)
Excellent course and arrangements
we are so happy
Wonderful two days at the DP Golf in Dubai. Despite the storm that went through Thursday night to golf on Friday was fantastic and the course looked great. Sunday the atmosphere was great and lovely to see Nicolai Hojgaard win.
I could not fault the golf course. The staff were excellent; the water dispensers were fantastic and there were plenty of food and refreshment options. My only criticism related to the shuttle bus service from the Jumeirah Golf Estates metro station. The shuttles left the station (and the course) every 30 minutes; but I feel every 15 minutes would have been more appropriate - especially from the course. Overall a great event, extremely well managed.
Event very well organized. Shuttle bus to Metro very much appreciated
Had 2 great days at event, was nice to get close to the players.
My wife has a knee problem, so it would be good to be able to rent a folding chair.
Very nice event, which i enjoyed with my family, especially my 13 year who is dreaming of playing and winning the event one day
Entry requirements of NO food or Drink was NOT communicated on our tickets and spoilt our visit.
It's a little difficult to not be over critical when the event was so badly affected by the weather. Having attended before the set-up at Carnoustie was as good as previous, with staff very helpful and scores up-dated regularly and clearly. I did find in a couple of places bottle necks for spectators particularly around the 9th tee, 12th green and 13th tee having to turn round against the flow to move on. The was a distinct lack of toilet facilities actually on the course and only one refreshment point at the 10th green. My main criticism was not getting early enough up-dates on play when the weather hit on Saturday 7 & Sunday. The website seemed to take far to long in advising when and if play would start or not. I was also puzzled why spectators were not encouraged to attend on Monday. I was in accommodation in Carnoustie but leaving for home that day and didn't want to travel to St Andrews thus incurring a difficult route home.
Despite the negative bits a great tournament and a huge 'well done' to the Greenstaff in getting play possible.
Clearly the inclement weather and consequent 2 day postponement was not the fault of the organisers but the communication to the fans was poor. We spent hours on our mobiles stuck in cafes and hotels waiting for updates. I think in future you should direct the fans to a particular site that will provide you with the updates. We attended Kingsbarns on the Saturday morning and no one knew what was happening. There was no real sheltering areas and hot drinks for the public were not available.
Disgraceful Treatment. Tried for over a year to return tickets. Sent dozens of emails to all parts of Ryder Cup. Not one reply not a single one UNTIL three months out when a general email finally arrived telling me they were non-refundable. I lost nearly £2k on tickets. Would have been my 4th Ryder. Never again.
I must be the only golf enthusiast with coeliac. Absolutely nothing in terms of gluten-free or allergy information. You get told to ask the staff at the different eating venues - guess what? Not a single one I asked provided GF& I asked several. So thanks for leading me to believe there would be at least one place that would cater for GF as opposed to NONE! If you don’t mind starving all day it is a great day out! PS if there is a GF food seller then maybe [they] should have made that clear - no wait maybe I was supposed to ask every single food seller right?
Great day out, well organised from a park and ride perspective. Catering prices a joke and people should he limted on beer if it turns them into 10 year olds shouting out on every shot and littering the place.
More lines to more P&R buses
Covered seating for watching the big screen in the event of rain as this year
More lines for bag checking which was so ineffectual…. no search of bags; could gave carried a gun through!
Excellent day out, highly recommended.
Brilliant day
Great day
Went to the see the golf on Saturday with my son. He left his car in the park & ride.
Excellent day at the event in Straffan. Staff friendly and courteous. Would go again however when I left early and returned to the park and ride where my wife was due to pick me up a young garda on traffic duty would not allow her to turn into the park & ride to turn even though the stewards on duty told me she could do so. This left a dangerous situation for my wife as she had to turn further up the road and pick me up from the road. Pity, as it ruined an otherwise excellent day. Maybe a better plan re-drop offs and pick ups at the park & ride
