📜 Derbyshire CCC History
Sometimes known as Derbyshire Falcons in limited-overs cricket, Derbyshire CCC was founded in 1870. After a slow start, the club secured its maiden County Championship title in 1936 under the captaincy of A.W. Richardson – a significant achievement and the team's only County Championship title to date. Since then, Derbyshire have enjoyed some success in shorter forms of the domestic game, including a NatWest Trophy victory in 1981 and a Benson & Hedges Cup win in 1993.
In the modern day, Derbyshire continue to develop young talent, while striving to reclaim their position amongst the upper echelons of county cricket. Dominic Cork, Gary Ballance, and Usman Khawaja are just some of the famous names to have played for the side.
