Barbora Krejčíková is a Czech tennis player, and the current women's doubles Olympic champion.
📜 Barbora Krejčíková History
Krejčíková was born in Brno, the same city as Czech great and former mentor Jana Novotná.
Krejčíková quickly established herself as a doubles star of the future: in 2013 she won the girls doubles titles at Roland-Garros, Wimbledon, and the US Open. She has since won the women's doubles "Golden Slam" alongside doubles partner Kateřina Siniaková, completing the feat with a win at the US Open in 2022.
Krejčíková is not just a doubles star, however: in 2021, the same year she won her second doubles title at Roland-Garros, she also won the tournament as a singles player, completing a rare Grand Slam one-two, and showcasing her versatile game.
In 2023, Krejčíková won her first WTA 1000 singles title, the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. The Czech beat the then-world number 1, 2, and 3 (Iga Świątek, Aryna Sabalenka, and Jessica Pegula, respectively) en route to lifting the trophy. Krejčíková continued her strong season with a win in the women's doubles at the BNP Paribas Open, again alongside Siniaková.
As well as having the court coverage and shot-selection of all good doubles players, Krejčíková is also noted for her strong, accurate groundstrokes, as well as her unpredictability and counter-attacking tactics.
