The China Open is an annual men's and women's tennis tournament held in Beijing. As a joint WTA 1000 and ATP 500 event, the China Open is one of the premier tennis events in Asia.
First held in its current format in 2004 at the Beijing Tennis Center, the China Open then moved in 2009 to a new venue that had been built for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, the National Tennis Center, where it remains today. Previous winners in the women's singles draw include Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Naomi Osaka, and Iga Świątek, whilst past men's singles winners include Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, and Rafael Nadal.
