Qatar ExxonMobil Open, Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex
This is one of the best tournaments in the world. Well organised, really good food at reasonable prices, really helpful staff and beautiful setting. Now an ATP 500 so it’s attracting the top players.

It was a great experience but the logistics of food & beverage was horrible. Many space for vips and less for normal people.

Cinch Championships, The Queen's Club
Pop music at Queens is noisy and intrusive. We had ground tickets for 19th June. We saw two double matches on Court 5 but by 3.30 there was no tennis to watch or schedules for the rest of the day (other than on centre court), reluctantly, we went home

Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, Real Club de Tenis Barcelona
Overall, a very good tournament. Main stadium had good sight lines. Food variety was good. Suggested improvements: (1) direct bus from nearest Metro station, (2) better seating near food concessions, and (3) more tournament related merchandise available for sale. The merchandise was quite limited compared to Queens Club in London (another 500 point tournament).
I went for the WTA 500 week. It was a great experience. I originally purchased advance stadium tickets for the first round and quarter finals but to be honest there is no need as you can easily buy tickets at the venue for any of the rounds.
We sat in the west side seats which had the sun to one side during the day and then behind during the afternoon which seemed better than the east side which had sun in the faces of the spectators all day. All seating was free seating, so sit where you like. We tried various seats, high, low and to the sides and all provide a really good view of the court.
The Irish village is where the tournament is held and courts 1,2&3 are a minute walk from the main stadium. These courts are free to watch, so you could watch tennis all day for nothing or just pay to enter the stadium. The Irish village has loads of eateries and a large pub so plenty of choice when you are there.
Minus: Unpleasant, sometimes even disrespectful behavior of some members of the security, the Czech flag was missing (perhaps not visible) on the Grandstand, insufficient assortment offered by sellers of sports goods, t-shirts (only small sizes) and advertising and souvenir items.
Plus: Pleasant environment in the area, plenty of opportunities to refresh and relax.
Don't follow the seating advice of the ushers. I was sent to the incorrect seats twice with my 84 year old mother after which I called for the head usher to resolve the issue. My ten cents worth: the various sections should be labelled ie. have Prime A indicated as such on the wall above the area. It's no fun reaching the bottom of a stand (which I was instructed to sit in) with my 84 year old mother and to be advised when we reach the bottom that we're in the incorrect section and have to go up again.
Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships, Ariake Tennis Park
As buying the tickets via the internet, it should be e-ticket, not to pick up the tickets at the stadium.

Good tournament but all seeds fell early. It was difficult to get decent tickets online
yet there were many empty seats during the round of 16 and quarter-finals.,

Mubadala Citi DC Open, Rock Creek Park Tennis Center (William H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center)
I have been going to Citi Open for the last 20 years. I have been a great fan and mostly due to excellent free transportation/ shuttle they provided and reasonable ticket prices. But this year was a disaster!
First, there were multiple sites about the transportation with conflicting information. Second, we had tickets for 10 am session but no shuttle was provided before 1 pm! Third, the Gico parking was no longer available and we needed to park near designated parking area for $14. Fourth, we were instructed to take S1, S4 bus to get close to tennis center. But the bus did not exist at designated parking recommended by the event. We had to ask a bus driver who advised us to instead take E bus to get to our destination. Overall, this is complete non sense to make transportation so difficult, expensive and multi step process. The other alternative was to take an Uber! We were willing to park at Citi center and pay $40 but that was full also.
Then there is small pizza one topping (only cheese) for $20! Why are they nickel and dime people and even not allowing people to take sufficient water so that they can charge $4-5 for a bottle of water.
The ticket prices for qualifying sessions were more expensive than the final! Why? It used to be $15 and then changed to $25 last year. But it was about $130 this year for the cheapest. I decided to skip the whole thing until on the last days they opened something call grounds only because probably they found not many people can afford/willing to pay these outrageous prices. Very disappointing and will not attend the event in the future until they address the issues.

Single event tickets did not go on sale until a couple of weeks out. I purchased 2 for $150 each and just left the event without even going in. If you don’t have a parking pass do yourself a favor and Uber. There is no onsite parking. You must park on Wisconsin Avenue 2.5 miles away and wait in a line for over an hour to board a shuttle to take you to the tennis center and then wait in line again for an hour to enter into the match. This is no longer the real Citi Open or Legg Mason, I won’t go again.

The shuttle bus service does not start until 1PM while the matches start at 12PM. The tournament announced the August 5th schedule AFTER they say they have sold out the tickets. Only WTA SFs are scheduled in the afternoon session, and both of ATP SFs are in the evening. More over, the official website does not update in timely manner. Whole things are big mess.
