The Zimbabwe Rugby Union Team, also known as the Sables, is the national rugby union team of Zimbabwe. They represent Zimbabwe in international rugby and are well-known within African rugby competitions. Their home games are usually held in Harare.
The team has a storied history dating back to 1895 when the sport was first played in what is now Zimbabwe. The Sables became a fully recognised national team in 1980, following Zimbabwe's independence. They have twice qualified for the Rugby World Cup, in 1987 and 1991, and remain a strong competitor in the Africa Cup. Despite challenges such as economic hardships, they have consistently performed admirably on the international stage.
