The Grand National Trial is a thrilling jump (National Hunt) racing meeting for thoroughbred horses held at Haydock Park Racecourse in Merseyside, UK.
The exciting single-day meeting is an action-packed day of racing as potential candidates for Aintree lay their Randox Grand National credentials on the line. Haydock Park can boast one of the few recognised Grand National Trials on offer each year and this race offers up a stern test of stamina. As you would expect for this time of year, spring contenders can be found throughout the card and the Grade 2 Rendlesham Hurdle regularly auditions some serious runners and riders for the following month’s Stayers’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
