Western Force is a rugby union club based in Perth, Australia, which competes in Super Rugby Pacific. The club plays its home matches at Perth Rectangular Stadium. Its home colours are blue and black, with the latter colour coming from the black swan, a traditional symbol of the state of Western Australia, in which Perth is located.
📜 Western Force History
Whilst plans to establish the rugby union franchise which became Western Force began as early as 2002, the club was not officially formed until 2004, and did not make its Super Rugby debut until the 2006 season. The Perth side finished its inaugural campaign in last place, 3 points adrift at the bottom of the table.
The following season, Western Force improved hugely and recorded a seventh-placed finish. To date, it is the highest the club has finished in a full league season - although the side did achieve a third-placed finish (out of 5) during the abridged Super Rugby AU campaign, which was held during the Coronavirus pandemic.
